Medicaid eligibility in North Carolina is about this stingy. Unless you qualify for disability under Social Security rules, virtually no one between the ages of 19 and 64 are eligible, and the income limits for an adult in a family where children qualify is even lower than in Missouri. Or at least it was the last time I checked about 4 years ago and since the GOP legislature is still more concerned about further cutting income tax than giving poor people health care (or any other benefits) I doubt it has changed. An estimated 500,000 people in NC could benefit from Medicaid expansion but the GOP is determined to cut another 1/4% off income tax.
I fly quite a bit. I usually have fabulous experiences. But on two occasions over maybe 20 years I have written 3 letters of complaint.
Once I got a "fuck-you we asked her and she says you lie".
Once I got an apology but no money.
Once I received an apology and $200. But that took months to get. And if that asshole could have booted me and ruined my job, he would have done it in a hot second.
So, no, let's not give any group of people that level of power. There are already a small subset of assholes, and that would bring them in *droves*.
Does Ed Emery know how expensive it is to move? When my husband finished law school, we had to borrow money from his mom to be able to move to his job.
Time to run against them. Now is the time to start getting name recognition for strong Dem challengers. They they are old and stupid. And have fascinating histories. They'd sink under widely available broadband.
Nothing explains Josh Hawley. He was born to be a Punchable.
Yep. Frustrating as all fuck. Grr.

That map makes it look like Missouri, Florida and ARKANSAS are the worst, beating out Texas unless they are looking at patient numbers.
I only notice Covid death numbers.
I thought I was beyond shock but she *laughed*.
I think that would be terrible.

And the health care providers whom they abuse.

Would that be Jon Beetem, formerly of the law firm of Dewey, Beetem, and Howe?

This crap started when Reagan opened the door to religion in government.
