I'm a little pissed because a supermarket I shop at says if you want to use your own bags, you have to pack them yourself. I know they want to be safe, but the science behind that seems dubious. And if I want to pack my own bags, I'll go to Aldi where the prices are lots lower.
While touching breathed upon objects has only a tiny chance of infecting the packer, cotton can absorb and protect a large viral load for a long time and reusable bags are often enough cotton. Also, a tiny chance taken hundreds of times a day week in week out by packing the entire town's groceries is still a large chance.
