It's sad that just passing federal laws re: abortion never really crossed my mind until now. LGBT rights is easier, just add it to existing civil rights/anti-discrimination laws. I doubt even the current RWNJ SCOTUS would be dumb enough to invalidate them

They have not "GOT to impeach". They impeached Trumpy and it did no good. Successful impeachment means 67 votes in the Senate which will not happen even in the best timeline.
You know what they CAN do, with only a bare majority in House and Senate? Expand the Court.
