I missed this one earlier and I am sorry. Because holy fuck, look at that fucking skeletor look alike. They should just finish embalming his ass and cover him up. Prefferably in a sanitary landfill.

What about the red hallucination? The belief that the entire country agrees and supports policy positions supported by a small but very loud minority.

Ya know that Montana Constitution thingie, well, Res Ipsa Loquitur, ya moraaannnn

el duderino's avatar

I’m sure the Montana legislature never expected that Constitutional provision to be enforced. Kinda like the Endangered Species Act

Daniel O'Riordan's avatar

Or the Florida migrant workers' law. It's politics, not policy. We never intended to enforce it.

Sounds like ~someone~ has investments in the fossil fuel industry. Juicy lobbying fees also too.

"Green Hallucination" was the song Taylor nixed in favor of "Lavender Haze."

No one is even interested in building new coal burning plants because they’re too expensive. All of the above means building cleaner sources of electricity to replace the aging coal plants that are being shut down.

Last I heard, renewable energy was cheaper to produce than fossil fuels.

Daines. Somewhere, there's a bridge lacking a troll.

"Shutting down energy projects that support an all-of-the-above energy portfolio is setting America on a dangerous path."

This is true, which is why the push for more renewable energy in a variety of forms, in addition to current fossil fuels options. You'd think an actual US Senator would know this, but any more it seems they're not sending their best.

I always thought of Montana as this gorgeous, pristine landscape, a place for hunters and fishermen and Native Americans who cared deeply about the land and the water and the flora and fauna. Basically, what the 1970's statute aspired to.

My vision of Montana is not THAT anymore. And they sure do breed some truly horrid politicians. But we can still hope that the kids have started a trend with this case.

See, I always think of Montana as the western-noir setting of Hammett's "Red Harvest", and as the place that made Steve Albini such a dark, edgy, but ultimately decent dude.

Personville was a very corrupt mining town.

I just recently learned that book was the inspiration for the Cohen Brothers film Miller’s Crossing

So the GOP policy is: Let's NOT protect the best thing about Montana so that oil companies won't have to watch their annual profits plunge to the high ten figures.

MT fascist assholes will remove that passage from the constitution. Guaranteed.

You see kids, when you grow up, you;ll learn to love smoke.

clairence's avatar

Funny you should say that. Current AQI is 450, as the smoke from wildfires has settled on the town, where before it had been drifting overhead. Luckily(?), and to your point, I like the heavy wildfire smoke smell.

Daniel O'Riordan's avatar

I find the heavy wildfire smoke smell ominous.

"Trump said the fire in Lahaina was Biden's fault, if only the Hawaiians were diligent about raking it wouldn't have happened, in fact, I am proposing legislation to have all these far left teens (that is, all of them) conscripted to rake all of Montana"

I can't even tell if this parody or if he actually said it.

He did say it was Biden's fault
