They like representation! They really like representation! So here's a big fuckin' deal: Despite decades of declining union membership (thanks, "right to work" laws!), anew Gallup poll shows that, for the first time since the recession, a majority of Americans like labor unions again:
The reason the violinist won't move his chair is because the stage hands are supposed to do that and it is in both contracts. It is a work safety issue (I saw a stage hand get seriously injured moving equipment and he was supposed to know how to do it). And jesus f. christ...the violinist has spent his entire childhood blighted and the rest of his life in a room practicing and lost most of his sanity learning how to play his instrument well enough to get into a symphony. And there are fewer jobs in the entire country than there are doctors in the city of San Antonio.
I've gotten a 2% raise for the last three years. I won't say what company is involved, but they were recently hacked and major fun emails were released.
