I think the philosophy toward the Jewishes is "Love them there so we won't have to love them here."

The Establishment Clause limits the government, not the church. Ask any right-wing dipshit who doesn't understand what words mean, much less legal terms like "establishment."

I once made a Southern Baptist very, very angry by pointing out that his referring to Mormonism as a "cult" conveniently overlooks the fact that Joseph Smith's cult has been around ten years longer than Southern Baptism.

One thing the Fundies have in common with Jefferson is a penchant for editing the Bible to suit their tastes.

Of course, Jefferson removed all the bits about the supernatural nature of Jesus, but other than that they'd totally see eye to eye.
