Rachel Maddow closed Wednesday's show with an update to the story that got rightwing religious wacakloon Bryan Fischer fired (or at least demoted) from his job as spokesman for the American Family Association. You see, the AFA was paying for some 60 members of the Republican National Committee, including its chairman, Reince Priebus, to take a free trip to Israel, because fundagelicals just love Israel so much, what with it being an essential component of the End Times.
The right tolerates the Jews because they believe the stereotype that Jews all have money is not a stereotype, because it just isn't, shut up is why.
The Establishment Clause limits the government, not the church. Ask any right-wing dipshit who doesn't understand what words mean, much less legal terms like "establishment."
I once made a Southern Baptist very, very angry by pointing out that his referring to Mormonism as a "cult" conveniently overlooks the fact that Joseph Smith's cult has been around ten years longer than Southern Baptism.

Every denomination plays-- When I lived in Utah, I was firmly assured that Catholics and Unitarians were "cults".

Fundies and funding are fungible, if you're fond of fellating fellows from Haifa.
One thing the Fundies have in common with Jefferson is a penchant for editing the Bible to suit their tastes.
Of course, Jefferson removed all the bits about the supernatural nature of Jesus, but other than that they'd totally see eye to eye.
