I hate that he hides behind autism to excuse his total lack of empathy. Autists don’t lack empathy; we feel things acutely and have an incredible amount of empathy and compassion. We may express it differently due to our neurodivergence, though, and that helped create the myth that autistic people are somehow unfeeling.

It’s named after an Austrian pediatrician who collaborated with the Nazis in their extermination of people with physical, developmental, or intellectual disabilities, and ties into all sorts of icky and ableist “functioning” labels. Basically, Asperger patients were considered “high functioning” enough to be useful to the Nazi regime so they weren’t killed.
I hope more psychologists and experts come out and explain this to the public (on news forums) because he's controlling the narrative and creating this misunderstanding about neuroatypical people.
to be honest elon may actually be correct. if we focus on fixing this planet(you know woke things like acceptance of others, making the world more livable for everyone, fighting climate change) we may never actually move to a currently completely inhospitable to life planet.
