If anyone out there has any doubts that police brutality and white supremacy are in bed together, here’s what I just saw in Fort Wayne Indiana*(on Main Street no less, granted it’s on the western edge of Main Street so it’s no too surprising). I passed a pickup truck. It was priée with two flags hanging from it. One was Don’t Tread on Me. The other was the Confederate flag. They probably don’t see the irony of displaying a flag meant to express freedom next to one displayed by men literally looking to form their own country based on slavery. Anyhow it got me thinking; this guy’s display is obviously a reaction to the BLM protests. What’s the Confederate Flag have to do with BLM? Why’d he choose now to fly his freak flag? Why, it’s almost as if good racists everywhere approves of cops killing unarmed black men- like it’s their given right. I bet our flag flying friend is the type who always explained it away when a black persons was murdered. He’s like the guy on Philando Castille’s tris who voted to acquit the cop because Castille’s girlfriend was “too calm” on the video after the shooting. Or that lady juror who voted to acquit “George” after he murdered Teenage Trayvon Martin. These people are on plain sight and this shit has brought them out in full force. He’s flying a Confederate Flag. He wants to turn heads. Probably has a gun. I just wish these guys realized liberals, women, blacks, Jewish, Muslim and gay can weapon up just as easily as they can.
*Indiana was a Union State. President Lincoln actually lived here for a minute.
I've never felt more glad to live in Northern CA. We have been SIP for months, even getting grocery deliveries to avoid going out. My husband finally went to the grocery store because he was going to cook something specific and couldn't handle the weird substitutions that Instacart often does, and he found EVERYONE was respectful of distancing, and wearing masks and gloves. Now if we could only keep out idiots from Orange County or from red states from coming here, we'd be all set.
I actually get why Bolton didn’t testify and cashed in on the book deal. Does anybody here think that this book is going to change a single Republican’s mind? Is Susan Collins all of the sudden going to say “if I would have known this I would have definitely voted to impeach!” You know who knows how republican politicians think? John Bolton does, and he figured might as well get paid for his story since his testimony wouldn’t have made a damn bit of difference anyway
