I've got a NYT-related question. Now admittedly I probably miss subjects already covered. And I have the attention span of an angry gnat these days.
I usually just avoid the NYT like the ... COVID-19. But today, some editorial about horrid, stingy senators popped up, and it looked intriguing. But even here ... I got sidetracked immediately. The disclaimer below the editorial's title just jumped out at me:
"A Cruel Motive for a Costly Delay
Republican senators threatened to block trillions of dollars in aid amid the coronavirus pandemic to deprive low-wage workers of needed help.

Is the "It is separate from the newsroom" some new attempt at rehabilitation? Or have I just been that out of it?

BONUS ITEM: The NYT is also running a survey, about whether you'll subscribe, and why. I'd like to invite the Wonketariat to try to respond more angrily and bluntly than I did. Hey, maybe I'll give more to the slush fund, in honor of the most viscious entry.
Republicans still don't realize that FDR saved capitalism in America. If he hadn't tempered it with support for the disadvantaged, America likely would have had a real socialist revolution before the end of the 1930s.
But they're so married to the doctrine of disaster capitalism where money only flows up the ladder that they don't realize that they're the ones driving the T-bird toward the ravine.
And now Trump has announced through a signing statement (UNCONSTITUTIONAL!) that he is going to ignore the oversight requirements of the slush fund, because now it has become the fund we thought it would. They have their half a trillion, that's good for now.
We've done it to ourselves, mostly, quite willingly. Governments and businesses have been happy to facilitate.

Just in!Mexico has agreed to pay for the wall as long as they keep all the keys to the locks.
That's hilarious.
A lot of good things (for the coronavirus) were happening at that time.

You don't need a crystal ball to predict what will happen when unemployment funding runs out, Kevin.
What on Earth are you talking about?
