If anyone travels to South LA and has the opportunity, I highly recommend going to Avery Island (about an hour south of Lafayette), where Tabasco was originally developed and made.
There is the cool Tabasco museum and the Gardens, the place is beautiful. Do NOT go to see the gardens in the summer, you'll melt your face off.
You wouldn’t regret it, except during the 8 month summer. The museum is really cool, but the grounds are amazing, especially to walk through and really experience.
It will be hard to visit during those “seasons”, since they only last about a week or 2 apiece down here. We call them “cool fronts”.
