Latest images from Curiosity rover Exciting nerd news, as NASA confirmed what had been suspected for a while now: Mars has liquid water! At least some of the time, under the right conditions. Scientists reported on Monday definitive signs of liquid water on the surface of present-day Mars, a finding that will fuel speculation that life, if it ever arose there, could persist to now.
I don't get the anti-Spam 'tude a lot of folks seem to have. I'm with the Brits on this. I love it. If it wasn't, like 50% fat, I'd still be eating it...
YeAh but will they do that? And even if they do, now we gotta wait another three years assuming they start right now. We Already knew there was water on mars anyway based on the ice caps. Why not send a rover there? Hopes dashed. sad face. Im glad everyone else is happy. I love space i love everything to do with space but i was disapointed with todays announcement. Seemed like pretentious bullshit. Well no shit theres water if theres ice caps. Now microbial life in the water.... That is worthy of bold headlines!
whatya mean always?!?!? we're never wrong, just ask us, we'll tell ya so. experience, and wisdom, dontcha know. or was that luck, and BS, i don't remember.
No doubt those guys in the field are magicians. I know theyre scientists but with all of the explanations And layman's terms it still may as well be magic. And i love their lumpy brains for it. Smart people, the truly smart people, are awesome and should b held up as so.I dont dismiss the guy who did the paper and worked through the science. good for him. and yay for us. that is to be respected. But the hoopla over the find is weak. The hoopla should be over his work." yea this guy proved what we knew to be true but now we have numbers to back it up..."But whatev. Im sure there will be more sciency stuff to get excited about soon.
Im disapppointed they didnt go to europa where they know a water ocean exists. InsteD theyre wasting time looking for mist on the red planet. Europa europa europa!!!!!1
You know Mars atmosphere is like 97% CO2. And look how cold it is up there (or so I heard). There, no greenhouse gas global warming on Mars, which proves it doesn't happen for Earth too. :-P
they were always feeding us that bullshit in high school and college that you'd look more appealing to the med school admissions committee if you were "well-rounded," and not the typical science major (which gave me an excuse to spend my parents' money to do a lot of things at which I was mediocre. Ah youth....)
Tina Fey was funny when she played her on SNL (I was temporarily distracted by my cat lying on the edge of my bed, looking like he was going to lose against gravity...uh oh, he saw me scratchin and now he's intrigued...kudos to whoever among you introduced me to "Simon's Cat"--he totes reminds me of my cat's behavior.)
"Colon" is the Spanish way of saying "Columbus" as in "Cristobal Colon." Maybe the detergent bleached or lightened the Jewishness so that Isabella and Ferdinand couldn't see it.
We're not *always* wrong, yaknow...
Looks about the same from Betelgeuse...

Maybe if NASA let it get out there were enormous amounts of ... I dunno ... gold in it?
