No worries. These are troubling times for many, and emotions are running hot and high.

Oh, no, I didn't mean to say that at all. I thought I was just pointing out that there was cherry picking going on with her testimony, with some of the BK related stuff being swept aside and the parts that are preferred by, probably, your brother-in-law, being brought forward and "refuted". Also, I do not mean to say that you are doing this, necessarily, but I have noticed that a lot of information and testimony is sorted into parts and taken out of context. It makes a whole different kind of sense when you rejoin the bits. That is what I was trying to bring out.Watch for that tactic. I bet your BIL does it a lot, and will probably sputter (or try to redirect, or yell louder, or whatever he does) if you catch it and point it out to him.EDIT - and good luck. Family can be a real pain to deal with. I've had to alter my definition of family because some of the original family was just too much to deal with - I don't consider them relations any more.

Sorry, I think I let my anger get the best of me. I was just annoyed that you thought that all I do is rail on democrats on the far left, when I'm also pushing against my piece of s--t brother in law who actually supports Kavanaugh at the same time I'm being raked through the coals by you.

OK, focusing on the Swetnick (sp?) testimony comments in your comment, because the rest is beside the point of this discussion; I see that you acknowledge part of it as a side note, but I just want to be clear, here. Your claim has now gone from Swetnick never said anything that actually incriminates BK to 'fuck you', some (I think) ad hominem "you are less reasonable than I am, and a subject change, so it seems we are not going to agree, I don't chase goalposts anymore. Let's just both go focus on other things now.

Yeah, focusing your resources is a good strategy, especially now when we have had an explosion of opportunities.

Also, f--- you so hard, JavaDavis, you know I spend an equal amount of time telling my brother to go f-- himself bc he thinks this is a witch hunt on forward. My being centrist makes me more reasonable than you. You want to believe Swetnick's weak sauce testimony, that's on you

edit: by forward I meant BK

Also here's what my borther in law wrote:"So yeah, he has a right to be mad and talk back to the bastards who have destroyed him and those he loves. It’s hilarious how everyone now says he doesn’t have the temperament to be a judge. Just before this, he was criticized for being too wooden and not emotional enough. As a random side note, throughout all of this, the Dems approve Keith Ellison, their #2 guy, who has 1000x more evidence of assault. They call those claims with doctors records and 9-11 calls (within the last few years as opposed to 36 years) “unsubstantiated.” Fascinating. Oh, and while Kavanaugh did his thing in high school excelling, obama was drinking heavily, smoking pot, doing cocaine, and in a gang (all Obama’s words). That’s cool though, right? The entire thing is insane."

yeah, do what you want, but i would need way more evidence to believe that.I think I've stopped giving a s--t about Kavanaugh personally unless it gives a blow to Trump's administration.

I'm more concerned with immigration and scapegoating of immigrants and all those dumb as f--- people in red states who think that there's some reason that immigrants are a danger to us. I guess i have a limited amount of anger

Yeah, she did say that she figured out what Kavanaugh, et al, were waiting for when she was drugged and raped. She saw him in other lines (groups, whatever) but isn't overclaiming that she remembers through the drug haze that he was in *her* line. She wouldn't have even seen the entire line at once, since they were waiting on the other side of the door.

Quote time, from paragraph one of this story: "... Julie Swetnick, the woman who says she was at parties in the early 1980s where she saw Brett Kavanaugh and Mark Judge waiting for their turns at unconscious women."So she didn't put together what they were waiting for a turn at until the same thing happened to her. That is when she figured out what the packs of males (including Kavanagh) were doing. The fact that she was assaulted is her personal, if involuntarily drugged, experience. In other not involuntarily drugged instances she DID observe Kavanaugh waiting in the door crowds for his turn.So saying that 'she doesn't remember if he was at *her* rape' is a red herring. Stop.

I'm quite sure you & yours would have "bought" more witnesses if your budget allowed it.

One word. 'Ludes. No inhibitions, no memory. Like the man said, they dissolved them in the punch.

Let's cut this discussion down to the bone, shall we? When you wave all of the smoke off of this embarrassing performance, this Kavanaugh has absolutely no business being seated on the Supreme Court. People smarter than me have pointed out that there are a dozen anti-abortion cranks that Trump could get seated with the evangelical GOP majority. They would defend his fitness for office to the bitter end, in spite of his laughable incompetence. Why this guy?
