Net neutrality is why I have Sonic internet instead of Xfinity. Because I have a gut feeling about the policies of each company. When the Sonic man came to install my service I asked him if NN was still their policy. He said yes but I think he may have been one of the people who aren't sure what it is. He was nice though!

Trump probably thinks net neutrality means the net on a tennis court has to be in the middle, and he’s probably against that because, if he played tennis, he would want the net to be closer to him than to his opponent, or whatever.
It does really show much of the Republican Party is not defined by knowledge, or awareness, or even objective independence from the concept of “do whatever leadership says” and “fuck the liberals”. It’s one of the reasons it’s so hard to make any kind of a breakthrough with deep red areas of the country. As far as I know, no net neutrality rules apply to smartphones. So although this is a good backstop, for many people, their access to the internet is completely controlled by their phone provider, with fast lanes for streaming services and stuff already built in.
