They’ll send Snotleigh and Braeden to private charter schools “to give them the best chance in life” because they know charter schools can turn away whomever they like: most commonly, minority ethnic kids and especially kids in genuine need of accommodations. They’ll take the extra testing time if it gets them into the Ivies, but to hell with the sped-heads who don’t belong in school in the first place and the “affirmative action” kids who are only there because of “grade inflation.”
They don’t *really* want a level playing field. They just want the appearance of *looking like* a Decent Hooman Bean™️ without actually having to do anything to prove it.
And they’re the ones for whom “socialism” is a turn-off. It’s not Republicans, who are so far into lunatic fringe territory as to be written off with an insanity verdict. No, it’s the stubborn “white moderates” who pretend to say all the right things but will pull out all the stops to ensure Those People™️ can’t have any nice things. As my father once said matter-of-factly during one of our Sunday afternoon politics and coffee chats, "The white people just don't want to share what they have." We need to accept that has been the motivation for a lot of political decisions since Columbus landed. We can't move on as a nation if we don't.

trump just got rid of Medicare Part D - the plan that pays for prescriptions for millions of Medicare recipients. Is this an example of getting rid of Socialism in a Capitalist Country? I know this affects predominantly people age 65 and up who are not known for marching in the streets. But I suspect that - organized by that subversive group AARP - many elderly are already on the phone and on representative contact pages. They might also be readying their rollator and wheelchair brigades. And old people vote folks!
