Trump gets the taco bowl, waitstaff get the shit sandwich The Trump administration's obsession with overturning every last vestige of the Obama presidency continues apace, with a rule change announced this week by the Labor Department. The new rules would allow restaurants to force waitstaff, bartenders, bussers, and other tipped employees making more than minimum wage to pool their tips, to be shared with kitchen staff, dishwashers, and others who don't work in public-facing, tipped jobs. Or maybe the pooled tips could go to the restaurant managers/owners, as long as everyone in the restaurant is paid at least the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour. Yes, really, this is a thing.
You can always discover the $$$ that the waitstaff dropped when serving you and simply return it to them. That's not a tip and the owner can make no claim to it.
The good thing is that Lil'Donnie's impotence at getting anything trough congress means that he has to do everything with Eos, so in 2020, President Franken can simply undo them with EOs even if the Democrats don't control both houses and if they do, then undo them with legislation and the republicans will have to take back all 3 houses to change that.
The hell you 'felt bad about it.' You've been trying to dine out on that tacky little story ever since, and you actually think your bitchy response was a dazzling riposte. News flash, pal: if you're going to virtue-signal all over the Franken thread, you really should recall your sanctimonious posturings to the effect that two wrongs don't make a right, and finally understand that the server's rather clueless and grasping question was certainly well exceeded in rudeness by your ugliness.
Oh too bad, I was a waitress at a fancy high priced restaurant in Key West back in the 90s before I became a very high earning local celebrity bartender. One day these two lady strippers came in for lunch at the last minute. I'm a straight female and my fellow gay men waiters scoffed, insulted them under their breath and refused to serve them pulling rank leaving me to do it. I laughed at my coworkers and treated these two ladies like normal people and they ordered lobster, 3 bottles of champagne and damn near everything on the menu and tipped me $300 cash and told me how grateful they were that I treated them well. They were funny, pretty and great customers. Those gals in KW made serious bank per night in those days. They came back a couple weeks later and I wish they would have come in for lunch once a week.
Lots of Bikers would come down to Key West after Bike Week Daytona and you're right about them, they were great tippers and fine people.
Yeah, my experience was with strippers from some of the lower end clubs off the beaten path in NW Tampa. So it's by no means universal I'd imagine. There were two strip clubs down the block from the bar I worked at and when the girls would come in they were usually awful. Later, I became a bouncer at the best of the low end strip clubs and the behavior and tipping of my coworkers was usually pretty shitty when we'd all go out.
Could've just been the area but I've heard similar harrowing tales at various industry nights over the years. No big deal. The girls were a fraction of a percent of my regular clientele and I try my damndest to treat everybody well regardless.

Amen! This is one of the reasons why for 26 years I have treated my wife like a lady.

I hear Lil'Donnie likes to be pissed off ... wait no, that was pissed on.

Where's Great Dane when you need one?
Yes but no pants, this is Wonkette after all
Well, I s'pose that is the nature of myths. ;0)

Always tip in cash.
Doesn't that make the tip jar even easier to steal?
Putin does have rather onerous interest terms.
"Privatize the profits, socialize the losses." - some free-market manual somewhere.
Unless tips are pooled, or you go to a coffee shop or counter-serve where they simply leave a tip jar.
For the record, I am ok with copious "Look! Cute Puppies!" all up in here.
