Nah, unfortunately, they seem to like "winning"; even if winning destroys us.

He's crazy. It's been done, and it has always ended very badly for the perpetrators. But I guess hope springs eternal in the insane.

I just caught that, and decided not to edit. I know everyone knows who I'm talking about, and picturing him in Dr. Dentons, fuzzy slippers, and a cottontail made me smile.

You know of course that there's a whole big beautiful new post about this now.

He also seems to have missed the point of that show, which is that the writers intended for you to LAUGH at Archie, not agree with him.

Facebook lied?! My pearls, they are clutched in earnest!

I know you meant "Bundy," but now I'm picturing a white cartoon bunny with a tire iron and one arm in a sling.

Ann Coulter never had one to begin with, and Donald Trump.... hmm.... what can we say about the cognitive abilities of... that?

Oh gosh, it's so confusing! Sure, they're racist assholes ... but they're wearing polo shirts and they're good at the internet, so they can't be "ignorant thugs." WHAT DO WE DO?

^This. If these dudes showed up to interview in their Klan robes, they wouldn't give them the time of day. It's still the same old racism in a different package, dummies. What is wrong with the media?

To be fair, Yukio Mishima stole a fair amount of that model from Ernst Rohm- as did J. Edgar Hoover. (The model being gay men setting up fascist butch-cosplay cults full of malleable young men.) (I am also a gay man, don't @ me.)

This is ONE wingnut! It sounds like he is recreating Yukio Mishima's 'private army' and last days - except Yukio had the balls to actually pull off a seppuku - hear that Gavin? We don't think you are MAN enough to do it!!

The Blessed Reverend devoutly wishes that he also could also boast a unit of attractive and athletic young men to surround him as a 'private army' - is that illegal here I wonder?

These delusional, self-important, pseudo-intellectual dwerps wouldn't be interesting if it were last call at the only bar in town...unless you write for the NYT, we suppose.

And we progressive types are expected to take it lying down. Not a chance.

It's worse than him just being crazy. He wants to promote and normalize the idea of political assassinations, by passing it off as "edgy" humor, just like 4chan did with "ironic" nazism. The Japanese ultra-nationalist militias committed scores of assassinations of leftist and moderate politicians leading up to Japan's invasion of much of Asia pre-WWII. I'm sure he idealizes them, and probably wants to do something similar.

A lot of the alt-right is rooted in computer geek "culture", so they're definitely present in Silicon Valley. And we've known for years that they were infiltrating police departments and the military, which even the FBI pointed out in that report. So I would absolutely not be surprised if there were people of that kind working for the New York Times and so on (and obviously a ton at Fox News, Sinclair Media, etc.)
