House Republicans have ironed out an immigration bill that just might be cruel enough to appease the Tea Party, which is all that matters, because it would give House members the ability to go home on vacation and say that they at least voted to solve the border mess. It doesn't mean that anything will actually be solved if it does pass today, since in adding more Mean to make the bill palatable to wingnuts, the House has made the thing utterly toxic to the Senate. But the main thing is that the House will (maybe) be able to say it Did Something, so shut up, Obama.
So somehow rather than hire more administrative law judges to sort through the requests, the money will be spent to detain everyone in kiddie jail until their number comes up to be punted back over the border. I'm sure that will cost a lot more than the smart solution, which means I could never be a Republican Congressman.
Oh, and look the vote is scheduled for so late that even if they manage to make a hash of it the media will be off for their weekend rounds of golf at Congressional and prepping for John McCain's eleventy-billionth appearance on Sunday morning TV. By Monday it'll be old news.
Those will be ignored, like all other charges of rape and violence towards minors in police custody. If they didn't want to be raped, they shouldn't have been incarcerated, should they?
But if you've got children surrendering themselves to border patrol agents, more agents means more surrendering, right? Of course, whatever happens after that is nobody's business.

See. You can completely trust that the Boehner has his caucus under control and would never allow another dopey impeachment.
