He spoke for about 25 minutes, and it appears at around 6 minutes in he takes a pill of some sort, which many believe to be nitroglycerin.
No potus is perfect, and LBJ had plenty of critics, from Robert Kennedy to many people on Vietnam. But he signed the Civil Rights Act, The Voting Rights Act and the Fair Housing Act. Those were landmark bills that we hoped would help achieve what his final wish was - that all Americans be treated equally, and that all Americans be entitled to vote “for either party or candidate of their choice.” It seems uncontroversial. But as is so common today, many in the chamber did not clap, while others gave him a standing ovation. Some there did not agree, for reasons. To them, there will always be undesirables who should not vote, or have rights. LBJ died 1 month later. At least he didn’t live to see the current state of affairs regarding civil rights and DEI vilification.
Back to Fox News and their many fears. Sitting down to pee is not “feminine.” It’s just sensible. At a urinal, fine, although most men know what the floor around a urinal looks like. Sitting down to urinate in the home or when using a toilet helps more urine end up in the toilet, and not on the seat or floor. Humans and men do some strange things and have some strange rituals. Why is sitting to poop manly but peeing isn’t? Shouldn’t we be standing on the seat or maybe the bathroom counter and pooping from the highest of heights? It’s inspiring, really. It’s pretty much exactly like the astronauts who just came home. It’s like that Lee Greenwood song, “I’m proud to pee like an American
where all real men stand to pee.
And I’m glad to know the men who died, urinated differently.
