If something like that were to happen here in the US, Newt, you and your ilk on Fox, Newsmax, et al, would make sure that hypothetical case would become a showcase trial for reviving the death penalty. One of the absolute worse things about that travesty, IMO, was the Grandfather who had to die alone (well, it was Hospice, so workers were there), because his granddaughter couldn't get to him in time because of the circus her parents called in. At the same time, in Texas, a baby was taken off life support (probably a good thing), and allowed to die. But IIRC, his family was Hispanic, and didn't have friends in high places (or low places, because Randall Terry came from underneath a rock) to protest outside his hospital.

Mostly the babies who are killed soon after birth are those from young people/kids who are in denial about what is happening to them and/or cannot share with their families or people who are in some sort of mental health crisis (or a combination thereof).
Maybe I just watched too many real-crime type shows with my Mom when I was taking care of her, but the number of Evangelical, southern, cheerleader-types who actually did the "post-birth abortion" seems to outweigh the actual medical professionals who DO NOT DO THAT.
