Thanks, great article! I’m not a New Yorker, but this guy has some really good ideas…maybe we all should pay attention! ☮️

we need social services funding as part of comprehnsive public safety budgets.. a contingent of mental health professionals who ride along or respond to calls directly, especially self harm situations. Also they would be helpful in fire and other trauma situations to take care of survivors and make sure they're dealing with things.

Hm, that's a new scam -- someone sent me a text trying to convince me a direct deposit to my credit union failed and wanting me to click on their sketchy link.

By "new" I mean I've not seen that particular approach used with that bank before.

Biff52 vrag naroda's avatar

I got an odd text from my credit union a while ago with a sketchy link in it. I called their fraud tipline, and got some third party dude who didn't know anything about it. I'm not feeling very secure about online purchases or even internet banking on the whole. The only thing I've really been able to do to minimize my risk is I've refused to do any banking at all through my phone.

Jen's Taking Greenland's avatar

wonder how many people with direct deposit will in panic click on that.

Probably lots of folks on SS, unfortunately.

God, how I hate the scammers so very very much

Noma Larkey's avatar

Especially the ones in the White House.

JCfromNC's avatar

I was reading an article the other day that said sooner or later scammers are going to glom onto AI to make *much* more convincing scam emails and the like than they are now.

Well, if she's going to ONAN, there's no better place.

But she's on OAN, talking shit about Fox?

Are Republicans trying to say Fox is lying?

Hamilton & The Crew's avatar

For $499 I want to know how the fuck it's going to be manufactured in the US and have high quality. And Trump is only making it harder to make that stuff in the US. They are going to need skilled slave labor to make those things. Do we have enough skilled slave labor in the US?

Jen's Taking Greenland's avatar

Apparently it is not "right now" being manufactured in the US.

Too hard to build an actual factory before launching your grift I guess

We have only recently seen this word used mainstream. Correct me if wrong but it sounds like it comes from bro-speak, the man babies video violence language. It ain't in any war lit I've read.

Jen's Taking Greenland's avatar

think the uptick in warrior and warfighter was after 911 and part of the faux patriotism thing for the invasion of Iraq. Before then the emphasis was on defense it seems, at least in the ads and what not coming out of the military. No idea what it was inside the actual military at the time.
