I wonder how long before Jay Monahan at the PGA is brought up on some financial felony charge?

“Sununu won't actually commit to voting for Joe Biden, which at this point is the only way we'll keep Trump from returning to the White House.”

To be fair, 2016 showed us that voting 3rd party, or not voting at all in the name of idealogical purity, really is the best way to go and carries absolutely no devastating long term consequences whatsoever.

"According to Sununu, this means he's either peddling books or running a pointless vanity campaign."

I'm inclined to think Pence is peddling pointless vanity books.

Well, everybody acts like Trump's current support among Republicans is actually gonna mean anything by the time the rubber hits the road. The fact is, we don't actually know what's gonna happen when he's indicted for real crimes, like espionage or insurgency.

Fine, your average MAGA Republican may be treasonous that they don't care about the crimes. But some of them, at least, will want Trump to actually serve as President, not just own the libs. If it looks iffy that Trump could actually serve, some will look for someone who's just as awful, but legally unencumbered.

A hope that the nomination can yet be stolen from Trump is a long shot, but not totally ridiculous. And if you look at the list of all the candidates who are not Donald Trump, one thing that jumps out is that they are all Republican politicians who could never hope to become the nominee under any normal circumstance. Their only shot would be in the utter chaos following a collapse of Trump's support. The Republicans who actually do maybe have the chops to compete under more normal circumstances, like Sununu, are sitting this one out.
