The Orlando area hospitals that treated the Pulse nightclub shooting victims made a special announcement on Wednesday -- none of those people will have to pay for their medical treatment! Hooray! The hospitals will instead absorb the $5.5 million cost of their treatment, which is a very nice thing for them to do.
Yep. I go uninsured because we earn to much to get a subsidy but the price of insurance is so incredibly ridiculous. To insure everyone in the family it would cost 12-15% of our gross income which comes out to about 17-18% of net. The IRS says I don't have to pay a penalty because the cost is too high yet I'm not allowed to purchase catastrophic coverage because I'm too old. So I had to choose between health insurance and my kids education. Or we could sell the house to buy insurance.
Technically, it is manslaughter. You could have to ask Judge Boyd, who gave Ethan Crouch 10 years probation for killing 4 people while driving drunk, why that is so. Or you could ask Judge O'Brien, who gave Rams Football player Leonard Little 2 years probation and community service for killing a woman in St. Louis while driving drunk. Because I can't explain it.
I am certain she would be interested if she felt there was majority support. This is not something our elected officials will do for us, we have to demand it for ourselves. The medical insurance lobby will not go down without a MAJOR fight, and nothing short of a tidal wave of votes will win it.
What she will do for us is give us a liberal/moderate Supreme Court that probably wouldn't find single payer unconstitutional, because that's actually a potential problem.
One would think big business would get behind single-payer because it would raise their profits - no having to provide health insurance for employees - and make them more competitive with the civilized nations.
A week before Thanksgiving 2015. They shoved a fistful of prescriptions in my hand that I HAD to get filled at the hospital pharmacy when checking out. I will never go back to that ER, mostly because they waited 15 hours to do surgery after I was diagnosed. Meanwhile, my appendix burst. Fuckers.
Only two more years until my state has the chance to vote Ted Cruz out. Fortunately, his unsuccessful bid for president made his SUPER unpopular here. Looks like the more people get to know him, the more they hate him.
With a set payment schedule. Seems to work everywhere else in the world.
NRA says if you arm everyone then nobody will get shot.
Intent.
You need to regulate prices at the same time. States regulate the price of electricity for Pete's sake but not medical care or pharmaceuticals.

American Exceptionalism, once again.
"We have a healthcare system that is the laughingstock of the world"-- FTFY

HMFIC?

I wouldn't want to feed an addicts habit. But, more importantly, I wouldn't want to ease any discomfort that hypocritical sack of shit may be in.

But, but, that would be stepping on the free market! Don't you know that turning a profit is the most important thing in this country?

Yes, this.
