Our local amendments are worded that way, and are often in the double negatives. You can tell they were written by Republican lawyers.

I don't disagree.

But sometimes too, you just want an escape for a couple of hours. Marvel is a thing because they have honed escapism to a fine art.

There's a place for all these films. And, if for some people, if they are genuinely moved by an MCU film...reaction to film is subjective and usually emotional, so who am I to judge that?

3.5% of the population is doing jail time, parole, or probation for a felony? Does that seem like a lot to anybody else or is it just me?

In most countries you vote for a party and that's about it. In the US we vote separately for each office, down to obscure offices most people haven't heard of and could not identify any of the candidates for, and typically also for a bunch of propositions, where to increase local property tax by 0.1% to increase library funding, or to amend the state constitution in some confusing manner. It is because filling out the ballot is so time-consuming that the lines move so slowly.
