Ken Martin has been a bust as the head of the DNC. It was a huge mistake to let the old guard push him on the party, instead of putting Ben Wikler in charge. Wikler turned around the fortunes of the Democrats in Wisconsin and he could do it for the DNC, if party establishment would get out of the way.
Wait--Donald Trump personally paid for Wes Moore's bridge? That would be some (utterly uncharacteristic) act of generosity on Trump's part. The bridge disaster occurred while Biden was president.
How many other acts of Blue State Benevolence has Our Favorite Dictator performed, in secret and without fanfare? What will he claim credit for next--Biden's IRA?

I'm fascinated by the idea of talent.
Easy can play any instrument he picks up (which is how he got his pseudonym [or one reason why, tee hee]). When I play air guitar, it is to indicate my dorky approval of whatever I'm listening to. When he plays air guitar, it is to learn the guitar part of whatever he's listening to, *which he will have done by the end of the song*.
My maternal grandfather, who grew up in a farmhouse without electricity or plumbing, could figure out how to fix anything -- electricity, plumbing, carpentry, automotive, etc. etc. -- just by looking at it. I once asked, not disbelieving but honestly puzzled, "But HOW do you know?" Grandpa's response was, "I don't know how I know; I just know."
One of my best friends from high school, who is an artist, became an art teacher. His students get frustrated when their drawings don't look right. He can look at their artwork and say, "I see what you're trying to do. Let me show you how to do it."
Which brings me to me. I was a Word Nerd by the time I was three, and teaching myself to read by sounding out the Sunday funnies. When I see a word I don't know -- including in languages I don't speak or read -- I look at the letters and something clicks in my head. Several of my IRL and Facebook friends who are not from America speak two, three, or four languages. As much as I enjoy conversing with them, there's always that little sadness of, if I'd grown up in a country that values education -- or at the very least, doesn't despise it and militate against it -- I could be chatting with Genevieve in French, or Eduardo in Spanish, or Willem in Dutch, or all three.
Any discussion of the state by state bans on abortion and women having an actual choice over their own bodies ?! I know the hits keep coming but I found out about this via Pinterest. I'd be interested in Wonkette's covering this.
Ok. IDK if I'm mistaken, but I thought I saw a YouTube video of Minnesota Senator Melissa Hortman destroy Kirsti Noem in a hearing concerning ICE mistakenly abducting US Citizens. My minds like Swiss cheese. I'm forgetful. Did I actually view that video ?! I blame zersetung courtesy Nixon. So. And then Senator Melissa Hortman and her husband are tragically assassinated by this mad Pastor. It seems to me that Senator Hortman and her husband were assassinated for speaking against * the current administration. * Fun fact. Noem sought Inpatient hospital care recently. I'm just asking why.
clarification of Trump's fat ankles problem. That's edema, or in the olden days dropsy. It's a symptom of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. That's what happens to the body of a lazy, stupid fat fuck who never gets any exercise beyond shoveling more food into his ravenous mouth.
All of these guys are fighting on the front lines while trying to do their actual jobs, that usually don't include fighting off a presidential invasion. Life definitely sucks in 2025.
"Should Democrats really take that advice? Because there’s what people say they want, and then there’s what they actually vote for."
Psychologists and sociologists from the pre-30s til the mid-50s† thought they could just ask what study participants thought or would do until someone came up with the breakthrough of *watching and observing* what study participants were thinking and doing. DUH!🤦🏼♂️
†The actual historical timing of that is probably very suspect but my foundational thesis stands, HARUMPF! 🧐
God Emperor of Nothing and Nobody says, "Yessshhh I went to the Harmy Naybe game, and Wessss came up with tears in his eyesshh and sshhaid..." LOL I can't keep going he's so demented and pig-awful this timeline is the worst possible timeline.😂🤣🤣
If Congress -and by that I mean the Republican majority chiefly - is so afraid of Trump, they forgot their oaths of office, their requirement to protect this nation for a domestic terrorist who also happens to be a convicted criminal - then it is up to the governors of these United States to put him in his place. And that place rightfully should be a prison cell and nowhere else.
I could not switch off the thinking part of my brain and become MAGA. That would ALSO require switching off the empathetic part of my brain. And the portion of my brain capable of feeling positive emotions.
I was in Baltimore one time in July. It was really hot and as I crossed the street, I stepped on an area where the tar was actually melted, I fell, twisted my ankle &, tore up my knee. People came from everywhere to help me. A guy selling "ice cold water, for only 1 dollar" ran over with ice for my ankle and water for me. Two women helped me back to my hotel a half block away. Security at the hotel doted on me the entire rest of my stay. A taxi driver helped me into the emergency room. Another time I was in Baltimore, I was in DC for the day and lost my wallet. People gave me metro fare, and the manager of the hotel in Baltimore came and picked me up at the last station, then treated me to pizza. AND my wallet was found and turned into the parks department on the national mall. Nothing was missing. One time in Chicago I fell and konked my head. People rushed to help me. I refused to go to the hospital, but a Chicago policeman paid for a taxi to take us where we needed to go. All big cities have crime. But I will forever remember the kindness, and goodness that I have encountered in both of these places. I fell another time in Orlando, bloodied my nose and broke my arm. Some guys doing landscaping rushed to my aid. These 3 incidents occurred over a period of 20 years. I am in my 70's now. I will never forget these people and how they did not hesitate to help. All were people of color, some where immigrants of different backgrounds and all were kind, caring, beautiful people. Trump is lying to you about immigrants, about crime, about blue states and their governors. The highest murder rates per 100,000 people? Try Jackson, Mississippi, Saint Louis, MO, New Orleans, LA or Memphis, TN. I don't see national guard troops in any red states. Wake up sheep. You're being gaslit.
Forgive me for repeating myself, but I grew up in a suburban town 10 miles away from Ground Zero and started going into The City while I was still in my teens.
I have also lived in a red state for over a decade.
New Yorkers, and people in the NY Metro area, are chops busters, but they/we are good people at heart.
Whereas a great many people in the South who I interacted with were NICE, but not GOOD, if you get my distinction. At best, they were passive-aggressive, but with good manners, the sort of thing that is sometimes described as "nasty-nice". At worst... well, we all know what their worst looks like. Somewhere in between was that thing where they stare at you with flat, blank eyes, like a snake's eyes.
Many people know this already. The problem seems to be that once we arrive at a certain stage of authoritarianism in our government, it becomes harder and harder to do anything about the completely illegal, unconstitutional, and insane things that keep happening. The courts get turned into a handmaid to the corrupt leaders, and so forth. All avenues for redress are cut off.
You are right of course. I am just so angry at the people who can't see the forest through the trees. There are so many enablers, not just politicians and voters but police, journalists, the people taking those jobs with ICE, white women submitting to their husbands, the people focused on a single issue and nothing else. I am supposed to be in my golden years and enjoying retirement. Every day is a struggle to just exist.

" The Pentagon has drawn up actual plans to invade Chicago. " Paraphrasing, this is starting to sound like a " If I go missing or dead " letter.

Fat, orange and stupid is no way to go through life, Trump.
At least Flounder was nice.
I love Marcie Jones, and not just for her ability to use the word 'weenuses' in a sentence.

I'm appropriating "waxy little freak" in regard to Stephen Miller. Thank you very much!
I discovered a reddit post that referred to him as Naziferatu, which is pretty hard to top.
That's good, too! A blog where I'm a regular refers to him as The Orange🤡's pocket nazi.
"waxy little freak" just rolls off my keyboard, and I wish I'd thought of it as a phrase, myself. :-)

THIS was the Walz we wanted to see last summer. Damn those Democrat 'messaging strategists' who clearly defanged both Tim and Kamala.
