In Brazos county (TX) you just refresh your link periodically. Took a couple days for us to get appointments. The actual process to get vaccinated was impressively efficient. I commented to one of the many, many volunteers about that, and her grim reply was “this is a war effort.” It surprised me, but I agree.
I'd be super thrilled, except I've been working straight through the pandemic while management gets to hide out at home, safe from risk, and offer us vaccines only to abruptly take them away after everyone got scheduled for them due to some miscommunication error. So despite being in a high category as essential public utility workers and having repeatedly been assured that we'll be getting vaccines very very soon, we've still got nothing. No word when we might even get a chance again. All it will take to bring this place down is one sick person.
And even what he did do, he did so ham-fistedly, that he turned incoming Customs into super-spreader locations. Tightly packed, sharing pens, few masks, not gathering contact info for follow-up...
As a former Seattle resident, and a present Portland OR resident -- which is at least as dysfunctional -- I feel your pain. I thought we were supposed to be on top of this shit.
"Younger brother"'s boyfriend fiancé since last week is a school bus driver; he's less than 30, but between his weight and job, he's already gotten both doses.

That's what we're afraid of. We've been working with reduced staff for a year already, people are exhausted and mentally stressed by the increased workload, and to be offered vaccines and then have them taken away was devastating.
It sure doesn't hurt that he has so many relationships and people generally trust him.

You mom isn't POTUS, either.
I hope people remember the Big Freeze and this come Nov. 2022.
That's... not how that works...

Multnomah County, Oregon, is completely fucked. I have an appointment for 4/21, now just have to live until then.
Mine is a mile or so away, so I shouldn't have a problem.

The on thing that might save lives in Spring Break is that lots of it is outdoors.
Of course, the "drunkenly fuck drunk strangers" parts are probably indoors, and involve heavy breathing... 🤦♂️

Expecting people to be able to spell their own names right is *eyerolls* about as elitist as you can get.
