Privatization of public assets transfer public wealth into private hands. Which promptly seeks to cut costs and increase profit by shortcuts.Government functions are not for profit. Civil Service makes the government answerable to its employees. Not to a contractor.

It's too late for me: this is the sht that got me and why I owe near 200k on a loan that was originally 40 and hence, defaulted like whoa (do you have 200k to pay this off? No? Ok, talk to you next month)..But I am glad they are doing this.

edit also: It is not surprising to me at all that the people that get the least in scholarships and then make the least in pay check are the ones with the most debt.

They make millions of dollars off college sports. Not the unis, not the athletes, the people who run the for profit college sports leagues.

Funny how the repugs scream for privatization because gubmint so inefficient, then private contractors fuck it up completely for 10 times the money government employees did it imperfectly.

On the flip side of that, I believe a lot of European schools will start "college" (or higher ed) at 16. The idea if you are for school you could continue, otherwise you can start working. But I'm sure those countries also have sensible healthcare and policies in place to help some of those that opt not to go the academic route.

Wow, that is a scam - Thanks Cuomo (or whoever) - the point I was trying to get to was that the disability discharge has to signed by an MD (even though the specialist who is really just a technician (like an X-ray tech) who measures range of motion and questions you about pain and cognitive issues) is the actual expert and if the doctors are not going to sign the form, that specialist should be able to sign the form -
