Raiders 38, Jets 33. I am more relieved that happy, as losing to Geno Smith would have been embarrassing AF. Yeah, I know, the Jets. Still, less than halfway through the season and the Raiders already have more wins than they had in all of last season.

Ok, some people may consider this mean but I dont care. I found out earlier today this asshole who was twice my age at the time and who sexually assaulted me in college has died. He was a friend of an extended family member who thought he was entitled to date me because he was white, wealthy, and a member of the River Oaks Country Club. Rot in hell, W.

Nope not mean. Hopefully the afterlife will teach him what life on earth didn't.

Nope. Not mean, IMO.

I'm so sorry he did that to you.

Thank you. It has affected the way I view men even to this day even some 40 years later.

I understand. :(

I’m trying and failing not to laugh. Ooh, honey, no!

But what if you also added a generous shot of whiskey?

> Arguably Kubrick’s most humane film (let’s be honest, the man wasn’t known for his warmth)

NPR once played a show from Temple Grandin back to back with one about working with Kubrick, and both shows had a lot of "I/he had this picture of how it should be in my/his head, and it was intensely frustrating when reality was not cooperating"

Just saw a bit where Wendy Carlos was talking about doing the music for The Shining.

Pretty interesting.

EDIT: In the 90s, we got tickets to see David Bowie at the GQ Man of the Year Awards at Radio City Music Hall, where Tom Cruise was the man of the year, only he couldn't appear in person, as he was filming Eyes Wide Shut, so he sent over a video of him talking about how he was working with "Stanley," and constantly referring to him as "Stanley," as though they were best buddies.

What a dick.

Even Bowie was pretty bad that night; the guitar player he had for a while was dreadful, that Tin Machine guy.

Its one of those weird days in San Francisco.

We had a cold wet night, and the bits of the house that don't get direct sun are still cold.

Heck, its not even that warm outside.

But the sky is brilliantly clear and the sun is blazing.

Can this box score possibly be correct? Tampa Bay 16, Atlanta 0, game just ended. That's normal enough, but TB QB Baker Mayfield threw THREE PASSES the entire game, no completions, but the Bucs have 325 yards on the ground? Holy fuck, them's some NCAA Div. 3 numbers.

2Cats2Furious's avatar

It would be more impressive as a baseball score.

irish379's avatar

those are 1970's wishbone offense numbers

cynmac's avatar

Yeah, I watched the game. TB had lost 5 in a row at home and ATL gave them a win. Very disappointing.

Came across this great version of "Time After Time" while looking for Scott Weiland clips this past week for his birthday. He takes a verse and sings harmony; Cyndi plays the dulcimer while singing.

I found it hard to get with that period of his.

New babbies are home. Their carrier is in the office where Termite can't get to them. The carrier is open so they can come out when they are ready. Keto has already swiped Termite. He is so curious about them!
