Not sure how I missed this, but better late than never.

Nice Times, cobra chickens, and Harry. I am cheered up.

Sorry I missed this yesterday. Glad I saw it today. My daughter was known at her last job as the goose frightener. They flocked in front of one employee door, and when she came to work, she would spread out her arms wide, and run at them yelling like a berserker. I guess they thought she must be even meaner than them, and dispersed, for a while.

She was nuts, but not stupid. She did not do that to the nesting pair, at any time. Just the ones that were preventing people from getting to work on time.

The beef stick...oh my.

I like your daughter, sounds we'd get along great.

I've given this whole thing a lot of thought, I've read all the fucking documents, I've done the field testing. I've looked at the chemistry AND the history.

Vernors is the best ginger ale. If Trump wants to pick a fight with Canada, this is a winnable one.

And the only proper way to drink it is out of a 2-liter bottle.

Ellie still in the mix in 26's avatar

You may have all of my share of the world's Vernors. I will stick to Canada Dry. But, I know there are many who would agree with you about the 2 liter bottle.

Stulexington's avatar

I enjoy ginger in moderation, so I prefer Canada Dry (and A&W as a rootbeer without "bite"). I admit I might be a little bias since I don't have access to Vernors but Canada Dry ticks all the boxes for me.

Forgot to mention follow up on this over the weekend: early in the week, someone littered cigarette butts around my building door. I bought a small bucket and filled it with hermit crab sand and set it on the stairs with notes inside and outside the door that read "Please place all cigarette butts in the receptical provided." When I got home from Dallas, the signs were gone, but there were no butts on the ground either so I guess Mission Accomplished?

Opalescent Riddles's avatar

"Please place all cigarette butts in the receptical provided."

Maybe somebody had corrected the spelling of receptacle, and somebody else had decided to spare the author of this intrusion.

Time was when a bucket of sand near a door was pretty much the universal sign of "butts go here" with no sign needed, and there were always some "starter butts" in the bucket to prime the pump, like the first few singles in a tip jar.

At any rate, Mission Accomplished!

William Donnell's avatar

Butts gleaned for use in rollies by sneaky, conciencious bums. Mission accomplished.

Weird morning. When I picked up my phone I had all of these notifications about EMERGENCY ALERT and something about Russia launching large bombers and giving Ukraine 24 hours to surrender. Weird stuff like that. I did the usual clear notifications out of habit, and now I can't find anything about it. Did I just dream WWIII?

Christian metal band Demon Hunter sue Netflix over KPop Demon Hunters

Land Shark 🇺🇦 🏳️‍⚧️'s avatar

It's not even the name of the band in the movie! Besides, if it is the fans choice, how many "fans" does "Demon Hunter" have? K-Pop would crush them ...

MRK's avatar

As I understand it, the band in the show has a different name, and a TV show and a Christian metal band are different enough that I don't think copyright or trademark really apply here.

Land Shark 🇺🇦 🏳️‍⚧️'s avatar

Well, as a publicity campaign, I now know there is a "christian" metal band.

Man, I ended last night with an "upset stomach." Horrible cramps and lots of time in the bathroom. Finally passed before I went to bed. I have no doubt it was the corny dog I ate at the Billy Idol concert Friday night. They say 48 hours is the sweet spot for having eaten something bad, and it hit like clockwork.

Not particularly excited about work today. I have ALOT to do after being out half of last week with that headache. Fortunately, I should be able to make up for most of that this week. I'll be out half of next week for my La Jolla and San Diego vacation.

Ready for nap time already. 9AM can't get here soon enough.

If AI was a tangible consumer product, like a car or a stairway gate for little ones, it would have been subject to a product safety recall by now.

Land Shark 🇺🇦 🏳️‍⚧️'s avatar

There is now precedent. The Meta and Tik-Tok harm lawsuits were won by classifying the "feed algorithms" as a product. And they are: a proprietary and integral part of the Facebook and Tik-Tok experience. Since there isn't a legal method (right now) to sue the companies for damages over the content, the attorneys went after HOW the content is presented to the user. Very smart lawyering, that.

When confronted by current bad economic data showing things getting worse, Republicans blame Biden.

When confronted with polls showing dissatisfaction, they say the polls are wrong.

When confronted with election results of voter revolts, they say the elections are rigged.
