Wow, this article alone will give me nightmares about WV. The only reason I would go there is for the opiates and white water rafting, both of which I did there in 2008. But I’m off junk now, and river rafting, amazing though it was, isn’t enough to make me ever return.
Come to NC, you can open carry while drunk here already! Aren't we the lucky ones! But you can't do it in a bar, so if you get drunk at a bar, you'll have to strap it on after you leave, or do your drinking at home. You can carry your concealed handgun in a bar, but if you're carrying concealed you're not allowed to have any alcohol in your system, so don't think you're going to get shitfaced in the bar, then walk out and pull your weapon out from under your shirt and strap it to your hip and be good to go.
Oy. My second youngest cousin graduated from WVU last spring and when the Rona ends and the state actually goes back to hiring public employees, she's supposed to get the job that the Dept of Natural Resources guaranteed her while chipping in for half her education. I suspect that the taxpayers might not be reaping the rewards of their investment, including the hundreds and hundreds of my relatives who have descended from people who lived there when Virginia was still part of the British Empire.
Even the marriage of first cousins is no longer considered dangerous I've recently been told. There's a risk but it's very small. There are drs. here who can also speak up.
The schools weren't segregated where my grandfather was in his time long before the 50s - despite the racism - because there weren't enough Black students to segregate. I wonder if the story wasn't the same in WVa.
Too much of America has been abandoned to medieval plantation feudalism.

West Virginia has sewers. They used to be rivers.
Yay, a state full (for certain values of "full") of a drunken, armed citizenry! What could go wrong?

That is a happy-looking dog. Reminds me of this one:

Yah, that's for the cute little owls. They weren't using the rest, so...

How about $15,000 and a whole package of mesh facemasks? That get you back? Huh?

Of course Joe Manchin is their senator.
What's to keep you from taking the money and not showing up?
Maybe we *all* move there and turn that state around for the good of the nation.
I'm in...Its a BEAUTIFUL state. A REAL shame that it's run by right wing filth
Every time I'm there I swear I'm going to move there - and then I remember I have kids. Who need, like, good schools and services.
