One of the reasons the GOP fights socialised medicine, whatever its name, is that, that alone, is enough to make people suffer employment abuses not seen in any other developed nation. In no other country will you hear "I can't quit cos my son/daughter/husband needs lifesaving medicine/surgery we could not afford without medical benefits" and I don't mean exotic chemotherapy, I am talking insulin, head-meds or just antibiotics. The current 'healthcare' system in the US is like something the rest of the world only understands through the lens of some kind of horrific dystopian sci-fi story.
Husband is US Permanent Resident. We are set up with automatic payment with IRS. We qualify for the STIMMY which will go right back to IRS because we owe DE MONIES.
I don't expect an answer. Just complaining.
EDIT: In the last 3 years using current account on file, I have not received a refund. The IRS is not authorized to deposit a payment. So I will be getting a paper check.
*socially distant high five* Same here (although Mr. Venturi is a citizen now) and will also too be sending most of it straight back to the IRS. Hope you get yours soon!
That verse of what was chosen as the permanent national jingle is the one that instills a simple but vivid connection between the image of the American flag and the effects of "rockets" getting launched and "bombs" blowing stuff up. It has suited us well. The overly-complicated "amber waves of grain" submission sadly failed to make the finals.

My check came in the mail today—three days before the system said it was supposed to be mailed!—and I tried depositing it today.
The damn check is post-dated.
Anyone else notice that on their own checks?
Oh, and my boyfriend, who is on SSDI, is still trying to figure out if he’s getting a payment or not.

Shit Sandwich. Made with real shit.Put Donnie's face on the carton, and they'll eat it up.
Ditto. Being the Government, they will of course waste the postage to start the money on its round-trip.
Hardly surprising: we have an entire political party that runs on spite.
