Nearly two weeks into the shutdown, the right's least-pathetic gambit remains their "cakes we like" strategy, in which the impasse would be resolved by passing discrete appropriations for things Republicans support, like national parks. Shut up, Republicans
The thing is, there are parts of existing National Parks where there are signs that say more or less that. They are generally so far in that there is no chance that the average bagger will ever see one.
It would be some sort of karmic justice if Mark Steyn and his ilk would wander off into the forest and need rescue, only to be denied due to the shutdown and lack of paid staff. Bears know that teatards taste better than other game, thanks to their succulent fat asses.
To my mind, this is the clearest indication of what I've long suspected: people who object to taxes or complain that their taxes are too high have no understanding of how services are funded.
Asshole. Demonstrated by many previous assholisms.

This is why Mark Steyn is a fucking asshole.
I wish this wasn't so true.
Of course they didn't.
It translates as "Mark Steyn is a fuckhead".
E.g., the Rim Fire, started (as best we know) by some schmuck with an illegal campfire.
If Mark Steyn were a piece of shit, would he sprout mushrooms?
Is there an audition segment for Rush fill-ins that involves coming up with the biggest lies possible?
'We the people's' states are deepest red...
Gohmert again.

If the government shuts down the forest, can a bear still shit in the woods?
So - disingenuous or just stupid?

...“No park ranger on duty during government shutdown. Proceed beyond this point at your own risk.”
So his argument is to turn our national parks into the "Hunger Games"?
