Still eating out of the garden believe it or not. Sprouts, carrots, beets, red cabbage were 2/3 of the surrounds. But need to yank it all out of there tomorrow, we're getting a storm and then single digits that'll burn it all. Unfortunately you can't freeze sprouts and there are 4 stalks full. And needing to use up the butternut squash I invented a pie today, basically a buttermilky custard with squash puree and small squash cubes that show as lively orange bits on the cross-section with a hint of al-dente. Very anti-sweet, only 4T sugar, the salt of the crust vs the barely sweet-egg-dairy-squash filling worked well. Topped with egg-white foof ( not quite meringue and no sugar ) and pecan bits. 2T of the sugar is sprinkled turbinado, 1T on the custard and 1T on the topping. This topping puffed and browned beautifully. Custard pies aren't hard to invent but they can bomb, this one didn't. Just forgot to pre-bake the crust, next time... Gonna keep it overnight and see if I want it to stay for tomorrow's breakfast.

It’s a Thanksgiving miracle! OldLadyClaire backed up into the garage door the other day (the double door, no less, not the single). And that got repaired yesterday. So we had to reprogram the garage door openers today. One is new enough that she has the directions, and we figured it out. The other is from almost 30 years ago and outdated.
I searched Google for directions for that particular model, and lo and behold, AI provided the correct directions for it! And we got it working.
After I lost the directions for my ancient digital Timex I relied on Google for years every time daylight savings time changed...until AI decided my Timex never existed 😡
I just took my trash out, and I have to say that one of the greatest pleasures in life is walking into a nice, warm house after being outside in 36°F (2°C) weather.
