He seems terrifying.

I love your comment about ending the Vietnam War after Robinson called MLK Jr a communist. Very clever!!

Ta, Gary. What rock was overturned to find Robinson, and how do we get him to return there?

Youtube. His little gun rant went viral, and he became an overnight sensation of the MAGAts.

Just think of how this guy would function as governor.

I mean, the good ol' boy GOP in NC must think of him as a big ol' dumb n-word who will do and sign as he's told once elected. I just wonder how that'll work out for him, and them.

Let's hope the people of NC don't have to find out.

At least Jesse Fucking Helms would have a conniption and then a coronary, so there is one tiny consolation to take.

This is why we need standards and requirements to serve in high government positions. On the one hand, it seems like a testament to American opportunity that a forklift operator with no political science background or experience can fairly quickly become Lt. Governor. But if we regard positions like state governor, state representative and potus as vital to our democracy and healthy governance, perhaps we shouldn’t elect inexperienced people simply for having opinions and being an “outsider.” The more we elect inexperienced people based on their views alone and then expect them to get the day-to-day work done competently, the more it feels arbitrary, even meaningless and our country adrift. We need serious, thoughtful, educated leaders who want what’s best for society, not the most colorful or bombastic internet trolls.

This is accurate. The Wright Brothers aren't from here though, so it's always seemed like sort of a pathetic claim to fame.

"Basically, Robinson is a right-wing troll who memed his way into high office, and in a few months he might be the chief executive of his state."

so, a typical MAGA candidate

Robinson has also claimed to be a preacher, a man of God, and often visits churches to spread his vision of evangelical Christian love. In other words spewing hate for anyone not white and believing in the least Jesus oriented religion in history. This is the peak of Republican evangelical delusions because when they see him, he appears as Rush Limbaugh, white racist skin and everything. I guess under the idea he's really a white man in blackface.

Even better, an actual black man who confirms their ugliest biases. White southern maga are a dime a dozen. (Used to be a nickel, damn you, Biden-flation!) But having their own black man who toes the maga line feels like victory for them. It’s Tim Scott’s game. “I LOOOOOVE you Magas! Do you love me?” Having a black maga governor is almost as good as Rachel Maddow converting to Republican, endorsing Trump, begging maga for forgiveness and marrying a man. Almost.

Here's a story on Mark Robinson saying Blacks should be paying reparations, among other horrific things.

He really buys into the 'White Man's Burden' thing.

On a positive note:

Most Black voters—around 83%—expressed in a January USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll said that the legal actions against Trump were “appropriate.” Currently, he has about 12% of the Black vote and his appeals to court us are predictable as well as disgustingly racist and go beyond fake photos with Black people.

Trump has stated he’s connected to the Black community because of his indictments for a slew of alleged crimes and knows what it’s like to be discriminated against. His tacky ass sneakers—which were another repugnant effort to win over Black voters—not only reeked of racism but turned out to be unsuccessful.

Robinson made his reputation by saying the worst things he could think of about the surviving high school students of the Parkland massacre. Right away he stated they were"spoiled, angry, know-it-all CHILDREN" who were part of "the liberal syndrome of rectal cranial inversion" and are "silly little immature media prosti-tots!" Wow, quite the wordsmith, isn't he? But, as with all things MAGA, it is just projection. I'm not sure there has ever been a bigger head-up-the-ass media whore than this guy...except, of course, for his orange endorser!

Of course those kids NEEDED to die. What a fucking asshole. Well in NC there is an actual defense: "He needed killin".

Former North Carolinian here. True fact: They attempted to make "First In Freedom" the state motto but the Black people wanted to have a word with them about that. Then they changed to First In Flight just like Ohio.

Also the Trump campaign is throwing everything at the wall hoping that they can find a Black person to siphon off the Black vote from Biden and, much like the insulting sneakers and claiming that they understand indicted people, they keep on with the insults on what Black people really want. It isn't THIS guy and it's not ass kisser Scott and definitely wasn't that travesty, Herschel Walker. Keep stepping on your dicks GOP rather than actually poll Black folks or create policies that are actually advantageous to them. Too much work I presume.
