Eh, I’m giving boybard’s school a pass on any error like this for the next month at least. Schools are all messed up with this pandemic and its kinda amazing what they’re able to cobble together in spite of it. MLK Day was the last Monday off for my district before the shutdown and school ended early, before Memorial Day.
Do I really have to point out that going to the polls to "check on things" means a longer wait for PEOPLE WHO WANT TO ACTUALLY VOTE? AND MAYBE GET COVID?
Now, I'm not totally sure about this but here is how I think it works, or should. Each polling place has a big book with all of the folks who are registered to vote at that particular poll. Those who die or move away are removed (or should be) from the book. Similarly, those who have become mail voters would also have been removed. Their votes would still be counted for the total tally of their home precinct but would actually be tabulated at the County courthouse or whatever central location the mail-in ballots have been sent to. The "Big Tally Books" at each poll location would no longer contain the names of those who had become mail-in voters and the poll workers would not necessarily know who the hell you even are, without I.D., and couldn't care less and sure wouldn't know if your mail-in ballot had been counted - remember, you mailed it to the courthouse, not the firehouse! Trump and his minions continue to demonstrate that they have no grasp of civics nor how the most basic functions of government work. And as you say, if you vote by mail and insist on stopping by your now former polling place to check on your ballot, all you're going to do is get in the way and slow things down for those who still vote there.
It's not on paper anymore, it's on computer, and if you mailed in a ballot not only will the pollworker know, but you can know too, by going to the website."all you're going to do is get in the way and slow things down for those who still vote there" You're saying that like it's a bad thing ;) Seriously, that's not a bug, that's a feature.

I had a friend who named his son Johnathan so that issue didn't come up.
The kind that you can hang out in the corner and watch?
I hate him so much.

'may have'?

No, because the NC Secretary of State already did in her response to Trump's idiot advice.
