“this Article and other applicable provisions of the General Statutes supersede and preempt any ordinance, regulation, resolution, or policy adopted or imposed by a unit of local government,”

So where's the outcry over big state government overreach, stomping on the little local government?

Yeah, I negotiated a 50 % telecommute to avoid the traffic to downtown. I also jigged my schedule to slide in and out after the rush hours. However, I generally refuse to go anywhere along the top end perimeter or up 400 into marietta because I dont care what time it is, the traffic there is unbelievable.

Good thing we all have sex in the dark, then.

Seriously, all of this legislation of "morality" really drives me nuts:(1) Gays were in the military showering and bunking with other service members whether it was legal or not. They were looking at your pee pee and butt just like all the other guys, now you just have to acknowledge it could be happening when before you could pretend like it wasn't.(2) Women will have abortions whether they are safe and legal or not. More women will die from do-it-yourself abortions, that's all. More lives will be condemned to poverty and more suffering spread. Before Roe v. Wade, you could pretend it wasn't happening, but now you have to acknowledge it.(3) Transgender people were using our bathrooms whether it was legal or not. Now, we'll have to look at each other with suspicion because we can't pretend like it just isn't possible.(4) Women were using birth control pills paid for by employer insurance whether it was mandated by the ACA or not. Now, you know it could be happening when before you could pretend that it wasn't.

Let's kill people -- literally with DIY abortions -- because I have to live my fantasy of people living within my narrow view of morality without your behavior or laws bursting my bubble.

Christ on a fucking stick, we are the United Fucking States of Fucking Stupid.

I didn't think anything could harsh my buzz about my alma mater being in the Final Four. Well, the governor's publicity pimp just did it. I'm now ashamed to have lived in NC and feel my degree has been tainted by any association with the state.

Well, now Clayton Co (and Gwinnette?) are in MARTA (so maybe in 10-15 yrs they will get the trains), but not Cobb. But there will be a new baseball stadium! In a *great* place.

I'm glad that rational people are finally noticing what a fucking mess the GOP has made in Raleigh. My home state of North Carolina used to be a pretty nice place, compared to the rest of the South, but since it went Republican there's been nothing from the capitol but pandering to rednecks and KJV-only evangelicals.

Wow. "Women would be legally required to fund a funeral for the aborted fetus." So all these KKKlowns missed Biology 101? Do they really misunderstand embryonic development that badly? Since most abortions happen when the fetus is 6 weeks along, which is the earliest you can do a D&C, that amounts to burying a Kotex in a coffin.

Can't have the kids going in the bathroom with a bunch of rapey transgays, they need safe, wholesome activities, like playing shirtless tackle football with the youth pastor who doesn't seem to have any friends his own age.

“To counter a coordinated national effort to mislead the public, intimidate our business community

Guess what, Gov. FuckNutz: Dow Chemical, Apple, Biogen, IBM, PayPal, etc. etc. are not YOUR business community. They are international corporations who will be happy to relocate to a more congenial environment if you continue to make things unpleasant for their employees.

I don't have any friends my own age (or at all, really). :-( Are you implying terrible things about me, other than I am a loser?

And as is typical, the employees of these companies are being screwed, too. If the companies relocate, there go the jobs.Smooth move, McCrory.
