I was at the event when she announced she was running for Senate, and I got to meet her. At the time, she was CA Atty General. She is fierce, and passionate about important issues. Kamala for President of Everything!

Re: fear of flight, doors

Combined with the way Dr Ford put forward her scientist persona (hippocampus and all that), and thus hiding her victim persona, I realized another explanation:Her fear of flight was effectively a lie, or at least an exaggeration, but not because she is some type of mythomane.Simply because she was scared shitless to come forward and testify. She didn't want to be here, in the spotlight, in front of all these people. Actually, she said so herself. Thus the paltry excuses not to come, or the need for reassurance about escape. Latching on anything to avoid this nightmare. But she did come and testify anyway, because she thought this was the right thing to do.

Do I blame her for her fear? Heck no. She did come and testify. I can only start to imagine her trauma then, and her fear, now.More importantly, it turned out she was perfectly right to be afraid of this public ordeal. It was likely worse than anything she envisioned.

Worth noting that in a solidly Red area registering Republican so you can vote i their primary to choose the least worst candidate is sometimes the only realistically enfranchising option for Blue voters.So...When you register your party, that means you get to vote in the secret ballot for the primary. Remember that the final ballot between the two winners is also a secret ballot so no-one would know you voted against the Tea Party candidate, and then against the Republican primary winner as well.
