Has Steve Sarkisian himself weighed in on this? If someone made a fake video of me slapping a woman, I think I'd have something to say about it.

One additional bit of context for Laura Ingraham, intrepid defender of women's sports: Her go-to line, after a U.S. women's national team wins any kind of title, is to sneer that "a team of high-school boys could beat them."

Well, at least 'Sark' didn't rape her when she was 13.

All Rowe said to the guy who wrote the letter about her was “Yo, stop bullying women” That’s it.

Framing this within all the complaints about woke Higher Ed…who needs it? Get rid of football. Two year BA program, Governor Abbott! No time and place for “useless” sports in this economy unless it is to shove manosphere ideology down America’s throat.

Larry Schmitt's avatar

Not quite useless sports. Someone's making shitloads of money from them. The networks, the advertisers, the conferences, conference commissioners, construction companies (building and renovating football stadia), football and basketball coaches. In most states the highest paid state employee is a football coach.

It’s genuinely a type of religious psychosis infecting the right wing of politics now: this need to not only excuse objectively terrible behavior, but to also jump to the front of the line of being someone who’s actually cool with it and appreciates how funny it is.

OT: Charlie Kirk's family is now suing Utah Valley University for negligence for having the event he died at outside. Apparently they should have also had more school cops on the event (they had six) and some sort of live camera monitoring.

I am not sure that's gonna work. TPUSA also bears some of the security on them. And my guess is Kirk had to agree on the outdoor location beforehand.

All that needs to be said:

"I think it’s worth it. It's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God given rights. That's a prudent deal. It is rational,"

The school specifically condones the right to carry weapons openly.

eppe's avatar

Which Kirk endorsed whole black-heartedly.

Elviouslyqueer's avatar

I saw the below non-comment that part of the complaint was "a well-known backdrop of risk." YOU WERE OUTSIDE.

Tza's avatar

Apparently the school should have taken into account the recent attempt on Trump and the murder/attempted murder of Minnesota legislators. But why aren’t we asking if Kirk was asked about the risk and did it anyway?

Saviour of Bread's avatar

Would Kirk or the school have paid for the extra security?

For some context, Texas was playing at home vs #1 ranked Ohio State. Ohio State dominated the first three quarters with Texas only managing a single field goal.

It was 23-3 at the start of the fourth quarter and Texas somehow managed to score 21 points to win 24-23 and the final touchdown of that came with less than 30 seconds in the game and Ohio State ran out of time.

So that would be an emotional ending to any game. I could possibly excuse Sark for brushing off Rowe. It doesn't make it OKAY, mind you. I would expect him to act like a professional who's in charge, but I could understand if he got temporarily swept up in the moment. These post-game on-field interviews typically occur nearly immediately after a game and it's not the first time a coach has still been in the moment and acted like that. Rowe is a professional and I doubt she took it personally, just as I doubt Sark meant it personally.

I believe that Sark would have probably at least privately apologized to her for brushing her off, she probably would have appreciated it, and that would have been the end of it. But then Arch had to decide to say that he found the edit of Sark backhanding her "hilarious". He was not asked about that edit specifically. Arch mentioned that one and that specific one being hilarious.

And THAT is why it's an issue. This wasn't a moment of emotion where he said something or did something he might not have in a clearheaded time. He could have said anything else. He's in his fourth year and he's part of the Manning family, so he's had media training. He's not some freshman who's not used to this level of exposure. And yet, he felt comfortable yukking it up with the other reporters in the room (who should also apologize, honestly).

Napoleon's avatar

Yeah, fuck Sarc cause fuck Texas, but he's fine. Manning and the barstool type fucks online are the villains here.

Saviour of Bread's avatar

It’s not as if Manning is some gawky kid, he’s third generation and has been groomed for this from the cradle.

It's not because her name is Holly. OK...maybe a little bit of my rant is because her name is Holly. What I'm fucking steamed about is this marvelous woman fought an aggressive form of melanoma and fucking won. She's been an advocate for immunotherapy (of which I have endured). And she's one of the bravest fucking women I have ever had the great good fortune to witness on the sidelines of so many different sports I can't count them all. Fuck anyone that would walk away from her because she's simply doing her fucking job.

EDIT:~~ Laura can go fuck herself with all kinds of ~~things~~

The family of Charlie Kirk alleges in a newly obtained notice of claim that a “series of stunning failures and reckless decisions” by Utah Valley University led to the conservative activist’s on-campus assassination last year.

Kirk, the co-founder of the conservative student organization Turning Point USA, was fatally shot while speaking at an outdoor event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on Sept. 10, 2025. The gunman fired from the rooftop of a campus building as Kirk was speaking before a crowd of approximately 3,000 people, authorities said.

Utah Valley University was the first stop on Turning Point USA’s nationwide tour of college campuses, dubbed The American Comeback Tour. The event “came against a well-known backdrop of risk,” stated an emailed notice of wrongful death and survivor claims from the Kirk family’s counsel dated Sept. 9 and addressed to the Utah Office of the Attorney General.

That's one way to end college campuses allowing speakers.

Especially Rapepublican one, because they're the ones who will definitely sue while bitching about frivolous lawsuits and the need for tort reform.

They'll probably try to cash in because of Utah's lax gun laws too. I mean, why not? We all know that Charlie never really believed in what he was saying.

I used to hate the phrase "...(insert whatever) is KEY...." to whatever vague point that someone was trying to make.

I am so old I think that a key is a key. But now considering anyone saying or writing that Archie Manning's on-air fumbles are "gold" to be a moron is key to a happy outlook in life.

Anyway, Mr. something something is gold can always go fuck himself with a golden key jammed up his ignorant ass.
