I'm with you. I'm not into theme parks, but respect the attraction.
There's an appeal to the weather (when there's no hurricane coming through). But mass population there is simply not sustainable. To support the population they have, they have had to destroy the whole place. Filling in the wetlands and building miles and miles of cheaply-built housing is why the damage is so extreme, and getting worse each time.
The wetlands and geography in general is set up to absorb the impact of hurricanes, and filter and contain water. Fill that in; and no filter or containment.
Happily!Best place to start is the NAR site. https://www.nar.org/contest... has links to not only the US national contest (NARAM) but club ones as well. Our club has its own annual competition but unless you're an hour or two from Chatham ON it's not much help. But we compete in NARAM as well - we're doing both, on the 22nd.
These days many/most nosecones are ABS because blow moulding is cheaper than balsa turning. Whether they could be printed with very thin walls I don't know, but if I ever figure out how to do 3D design it's be worth a try, if only so that REALLY weird stuff could be made.Damn, now I'm pondering a flying Space Battleship Yamato model. I may need an intervention.
That's about the most USA-2022 statement I've read in a long time. What does that even fucking mean?
Locking everyone up and throwing away the key, slashing programs in prisons, eliminating all efforts to break the cycles of dysfunction that lead to prison; that all has enriched the modern slave trade, including for-profit prison, militarized policing, and an enormous cohort of jobs in the judicial/penal slave trade system is why we're where we are today.
Yet these assholes persist, desperately, in demanding to keep doing what has already failed disastrously; just doing it harder.
The appeal is racism, to be sure; but there's more to it. To really address the problem of crime in America, we have to look at poverty. Poverty correlates closely, but not perfectly, to race in America. To look at poverty, we have to look at our entire socio-economic system.
So it's a lot easier to use codeword racism, prop up the collapsing status quo; and demand incredible increases in state violence to keep the lid on. That will result in a devastating collapse, of course. But it's very easy to convince people that Plan A of "getting lucky," not keeping the money you have today in the hopes the inevitable will magically not come to pass; is a better option than actually investing money in solutions that will pay off huge in the future.
And the children just... wait for it: snickered.
AH! LARAMIE! HI LARAMIE!!!!
Laramie and I were in undergrad together at UM, and he's one of my favorite people in the whole wide world!
This fucking thing.

Depends? Better chance of being targeted for being brown in the burbs than for being white in the city though.
And back far enough no one wore shoes. Why are we in the picket of Big Shoe?
Science proved they don't exist. A lot of people don't like that. My daughter is one.
Ewwwwww...but correct.
Per France, he's already been using a bit of old-fashioned gas....
Show me the peer reviewed studies that show unicorns don't exist (hee hee)
Yeah, I have seen and lusted after those. Much more reliable than my battered old Xacto knives.

I expect nothing less!
