Hope everyone was impressed by my Random Recommends this weekend.
Day 3 of Birthday Weekend has gone exceedingly well so far. My former workplace has reopened under a new company (Regal) and a friend and I checked out a movie there. The movie? "Wildwood", produced by LAIKA. How good is it? Five stars. Work of fucking art. A technical marvel coupled with layered characters and a gripping story. I'm perfectly fine calling this LAIKA's magnum opus. GO SEE IT.
President Donald Trump defended his Justice Department’s lawsuit over Alaska’s Senate race on Sunday by claiming many voters don’t understand a basic political term.
“A lot of people don’t know what incumbent means,” Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews before leaving for a campaign rally in Michigan.
There is insufficient good whiskey and/or GOOD beer to keep me from smashing something that I like between now and the end of the orange abomination's term.
I still have a damned difficult time believing that this nation elected that glad-handing, ass-patting abomination of carbon president in the FIRST place.
"This source adds that some business owners and event hosts have explicitly told them that they do not want the horrendous publicity – or angry phone calls, or social-media attacks, or customer complaints – that they would get for hosting Ramaswamy’s campaign tour at this juncture."
After reading several articles on the topic, I just have to say, unequivocally, that I would simply abandon having a cell phone before I used a Starlink cell phone.
My God, the data scrubbing and the AI scraping would be beyond description.
I like this Retro TV site! I'm glad people may be treated better in some courtrooms...it outtta be everywhere. But OMG that animal bridge! Please tell me they put trail cams up there to catch the wildlife going by!
"I was buying a corn dog from this food truck and this guy parked his big truck in this spot that I know they constantly tow from and I told him that they tow.
He told me to "fuck off" and then a tow truck came two minutes later.
Now I'm eating a corn dog and watching this stupid motherfucker argue with the tow driver who is towing his truck.
Just watched Poltergeist again and was having the same thought: how nobody under the age of 35 is even aware of how tv signals used to end (since it’s so important to the plot of the film)
Saw a thing that IPods are becoming popular again with Gen zers because they allow one to listen to music without being constantly distracted by noise. Imagine that. The endless signal just going quiet even for a few hours……
Speaking of television, looks at tonight's line-up...
...let's see...
tehbaddr squaring off against Chef Boyardee for the honour of a dill pickle and Sidney Powell in a beefaroni and leopard skin Speed-O cage match.
I like where this is going.
A three way match !
Now I want some beefaroni.
how much honor can a dill pickle really have?
*steps in*

Happy Birthday Random!
If all goes well, the much-anticipated Southern California wildlife crossing is scheduled to open this winter, finally and hooray:

I initially misread "wildlife" as "wildfire."
Eeeeeekkkk, don't say that in CA, please! Wildfires jump right over the freeway sometimes!!!
I have heard that. Terrifying.
Same!
LOL. I thought that was what it said until I read your comment.
Speaking of Telstar, The Tornadoes had a #1 hit with an instrumental titled "Telstar" in 1962.
Here's the demo version made my 'eccentric' (putting it mildly) composer and music engineer Jow Meek:

We all know that "A lot of people" is just a phrase he uses that really means "I", right?
Always.
Just like I'm sure that it was explained to him monosyllabically why you can't nuke a fucking hurricane and he still doesn't understand.
Did you know there is a "b" in "incumbent?"
Great covers. Alanis and Joan are two of my favorite Lady Music People.
“A lot of people don’t know what incumbent means,”
No TACO. Just because you don't know what it means doesn't mean the rest of us didn't take 5th grade civics.
Oh by the way I'm glad he informed me that "Dumb" was spelt with a "B". Baconz totally forgot that since I was in kindergarten.
*fight is not actually spelled fite. Most people dont know that either*
He's right, though.
Look at the preponderance of morons in this country. I bet a big portion have zero clue what that word means.
I bet you're right, but I'm not sure I understand what the point of people not understanding the term is.
Bc the ballot refers to the one he wants elected as both Republican and incumbent. The other guy with the same name doesn't have either designation.

Wildlife bridges! We have a huge one here in WA state on the I-90 near Snoqualmie Pass:
https://www.scenicwa.com/poi/i-90-wildlife-bridge
The I-90 otherwise slashes north-south wildlife movement across the I-90 in the Cascades. But the animals appear to have taken a liking to it!
It has saved thousands of animals. And it is covered with all kinds of flora and fauna!
I scan the Sunday news for Ziggy Nice Times™ ... like this one: https://www.joemygod.com/2026/10/report-venues-are-canceling-ramaswamy-events/
REPORT: Venues Are Canceling Ramaswamy Events
That's a shame, Vivek.
Power to the People.

Radioactive.

Too many people think that cruelty will deter crime when it actually makes crime worse in practice.
I can't find a livestream but there's this you might appreciate...

Saw this today and thought it was nice . . .

He told me to "fuck off" and then a tow truck came two minutes later.
Now I'm eating a corn dog and watching this stupid motherfucker argue with the tow driver who is towing his truck.
Life is so fucking good."
Truly you're cut from the same smirking and snickering fabric that I am.
Do either of them have Red Hats?
No good deed goes unpunished.
If there's a rent-a-scooter stand nearby, it might be helpful to point it out.

Watch President Obama beat Donald's figurative behind in Ohio
Listen to the crowd ROAR if you were concerned that somebody who's voting on the side of democracy might've forgotten the JCPOA
