I suppose if enough of us sign up we can eventually take over the NRA and turn it into a Planned Parenthood style organization that also teaches hunting safety.
But the NRA says we will all be safer if we are all packing heat. Guns for everyone. Nobody will bother shooting anyone again, if everyone realized how common, and thus how mundane and boring gun violence is. It would lose it's panache. The NRA doesn't have any reason, financial or political, to lie to us to keep us buying guns. I am thinking of joining the gun-of-the-month club. But only one gun per month? That kind of relaxed pace is not recommended by the NRA. Get serious about peace, and start buying guns every 2 weeks. Why do you think paychecks are issued that way, huh? huh?
It sounds like what I thought after seeing "Dave Crockett at the Alamo" in 1955. I thought that if only the Texans and Crockett had had machine guns, they would have won. Really dumb, of course, but then I was just eight years old.
