Yes. I never watched Sex and the City. I know Cynthia Nixon's acting from Amadeus, in which she was superb, and Hannibal (the TV version), in which she was shitty. Sorry, Cynthia, but having an out lesbian actor as the Democratic candidate for governor would likely mean a Republican win, and none of us want that. I have personal reasons for disliking Andrew Cuomo, but he has my vote.

As we've seen over and over, skill sets don't necessarily transfer well from one field to another. Bloomberg's elevation of Cathie Black to City Schools Chancellor was an early spectacular failure. I thought it was funny, b/c why assume someone who only had a career in management could just move over to running NYC schools? How naïve I was....
Agree 100%. I have nothing against her as an actress. But goddamnit we have to have some STANDARDS for crying out loud. Being "passionate" or whatever she calls herself is not the same thing as having experience and expertise at statecraft.

No, it isn't, but I don't think that's why she's running. I think she's trying to move the needle on Cuomo the only way anyone can, by damaging what he fondly hopes are his prospects in 2020. He only pretends to be a Democrat when he's forced to, and he's already got the Berniecrat seal, so he's not budging on some really nasty shit unless he's pushed to the left.

In CA we have a Dem super majority, despite (to spite?) the Okies out in the valley. Before any one gets too hot, my great-grandmother was born in KS, and was a New Deal Dem. Even out here on the coast, we've got Trumpanzees in the North County.
