Miss Daniels’ testimony was more ‘coercive, nearly to the point of rape’ than ‘it was a deal to be on the Apprentice’. And I have far more faith in her truthfulness than any trumpanzee shill.

How many Scaramucci's will JD Trump keep DJ Vance?

Expand full comment
fair_n_hite_451's avatar

How many until the election? No way does Trump admit he made a mistake in picking Vance, even if it does hurt his campaign. He'll ride or die instead of admitting the mistake, and then just blather about FRAUD and STOLLEN until the end of time.

It will be interesting (and fun) to see what Kamala does with her presidential immunity. 🤔

Remember all the to-do about Bill getting his Oval Office BJ? Official act? And how fucking hypocritical to now defend the serial adulterer. JFC these "people"!

Won't happen, of course, but a boy can dream.

always mostly off topic: like, 50 years ago, I asked for a raise, cause the other dude doing exactly the same thing with the same amount of experience GOT a Raise

So I said, I deserve one too.

And the answer was -NO-- you aren't married & you don't have children to support.

To which my reply was, in absolute red-state America: What are you, some kind of a stinking Commie !?!

(follow the money).

I had a married co- worker who was up for the same higher level job as I was. He actually came to single and childless me to say I should withdraw my name because he had three kids, one of them a baby, and a wife who didn’t work (no blame on her). I wanted to point out that he chose to marry a woman with two kids (got a pass on #3, the result of faulty birth control). I didn’t back down and he got the promotion.

We are together, my SO and I, but "single" according to the law. Both Childless, thank the Buddha, and freaking, frigging, fucking HATE how all the fam-damilies get all the perks, in addition to sucking up all the space, campgrounds, roads, and other resources, and leaving gigantic carbon footprints, but get these concessions buh-cuz "families". You choose to have kids, pay their way. And then some. Sorry moms, dads, life's a beech.

Just a question here (and please don't rip me apart for my naivety, I know very little about the law in this regard and I have extremely thin skin)—okay, with the documents case that Judge Fangirl has put on hold indefinitely: if she were to throw it out entirely, can it be resurrected when PAB loses the election and he's right back to Citizen Cheatolini? If there was no actual trial to begin with because of her kickin' it down the road, it wouldn't count as double jeopardy to refile the whole works and get him then, right? I suppose, upon losing this election, he would probably announce his candidacy for 2028 so he could scream "election interference!" all he wants again, but it's still possible to eventually nail him on this shit, isn't it? Somebody talk to me like I'm a relatively intelligent 10-year-old...

As far as I know, Jack Smith has appealed her ruling to the Eleventh Circuit, and they are expected to reverse Judge Cannon. But they will take their sweet time.

But, if we should (everything crossed) end up with a Madam President, it should be game on again because there would be no reason for her or anyone else to protect him?

Expand full comment
fair_n_hite_451's avatar

Correct. PAB is counting on being a sitting president and being able to make everything go away. When he loses, he loses that ability, and no amount of "dragging" is going to last 4 years now that these things have finally dropped (Thanks Garland you time wasting SOB)

The case should continue uninterrupted, allowing for massive delays because of Trump's incessant appeals.

I’m kinda on team Trump on this one. All sleazy, corrupt and immoral acts by Trump were “Official” acts because that’s all he does. He enriched himself, ingratiated himself with flattery and impressed world leaders with loose talk in the Oval Office about State secrets and all the cool classified documents he got to see, and steal. His bizarre path to our highest office is a stain on our American history and all the proof we need that our system is a flawed experiment in progress.

Yes, and give the poor manchild a break. He HAS to use money or violence to get close to any woman. Not a lawyer but I am something of a historian, and I don't see how the recent SCOTUS ruling has changed a lot. Presidential immunity is not guaranteed by the Constitution but it has been a long standing practice. However, only for acts committed in the performance of their official duties as POTUS, and only while they are in office. It is not for everything for all time All off the charges Fatso was convicted of were committed long before he became POTUS and have nothing whatsoever to do with official duties. So NO immunity, and his lawyers know that

"Presidential Immunity" was never a thing. "You don't charge a sitting President" was an agreement, but that never precluded eventual charges, I think it was always an attempt to avoid the conflict of interest in prosecuting your boss.

Yes, there is a freight train worth of evidence and anything "official" would be like a speck of dust in comparison. Of course, the Supreme Court majority just paved the way for a Trump dictatorship, so I place not even one iota of trust in their future judgments. Still, I think Marchan will go ahead and pass sentence.

Hay you guyzes; remember when Judge Merchan was all nice and far more patient than most people would have been, and didn't hit Grandpa Poopy Diaper with jail time, and cut him a bunch of breaks instead, and we were all like, "What's up with THAT?"?

I'm guessing it was Judge Merchan, not being A Idiot, foresaw that Stinky & Co. would pull some stunt like this, so he pre-emptively let the wind out of their sales at every turn.
