NYT published a strongly worded editorial about the insurrection reparations fund today, but despite the inflammatory headline, they covered both sides of their ass in th second sentence:

“Has there ever been an episode of presidential corruption so blatant and threatening to constitutional order? Certainly not in modern times.”

“Modern times” my fanny. No president has ever come close to this level of corruption and malfeasance. Just say that, NYT. It is factually unassailable.

Blanche is a loser fluffer because he knows his law, yet is not skilled in the Gish Gallop and Bondi Burn. His bullshit is tepid. But he knows how to weave and lie, and Trump loves that. "Sting like a butterfly and float like a bee"describes the régime's fluffy bunny. Is he fierce enough to grab the AG throne? Only the Cardboard King taps his nose in decision.

Even this half-assed, waffling report is a damning indictment of Dummycrat party non-leadership. The DNC paves the road to hell for America.

I feel like we need cult deprogrammers to spend months, years maybe, teaching the MSM to un-learn Murc's Law.

Even the National Review and Fox News creep Andy McCarthy knows that what Todd Blanche is doing is dirty.

"AG Blanche Delivers Tax Audit Immunity to Trump, His Former Client"–https://archive.ph/20260520181146/https://www.nationalreview.com/2026/05/ag-blanche-delivers-tax-audit-immunity-to-trump-his-former-client/#selection-494.0-494.1

"I was wrong to assume the “This Week in Corruption” prize would have to go to President Trump’s $1.776 billion slush fund for political allies, about which we editorialized earlier this week (and I’ll have more to say on that over the weekend). The fund is topped, truly, by the president’s granting himself and his family immunity from further or future audits by the Internal Revenue Service, as well as any related prosecution for possible tax crimes."

[...]

"This stinks. There is also nothing any court can do about it. It is executive branch ethical impropriety and self-dealing — abuse of power — that only Congress can address.

Yeah, right."

I am SO pissed off about this. The motherfucker believes himself to be the anointed monarch of this nation, meaning that he and his immediate family shall be devoid of any legal responsibility for their copious, caustic corruption.

It actually overwhelms me a bit sometimes just how thoroughly and entirely I DESPISE Drumpfenfuehrer and his filthy fucking family.

A master class, in taking down a NYT article!

Such a great read, about the stupidest slush fund ever!

Todd's just as whiney, arrogant and combative as the rest of them.

Preferably particularly painfully.

Because AI could never replace a CEO, what with an executive's unique ability to utilize 'gut feelings' and delegate. And show me AI capable of liking the cut of one's jib.

This will probably feature prominently in the pronouncements when the bank execs find themselves hog-tied, hooded, and being prodded with sharp sticks.

Let me get this straight. SpaceX, upon its IPO, is going to be worth more than 90% of the nations on Earth?

That seems fair, they only blow up half of the time.

Snarfyguy's avatar

I read somewhere it'll make him a trillionaire.

Nancy Naive's avatar

Half the nations on Earth blowup every once in a while too. Of course, they get help from the US, so there’s that.

Fake money.. I'm so over these "valuations" of companies that REALLY dont make sense. Seems like the hemorrhage money while "hyping" their bullshit

HerstoryRepeating's avatar

Lots of gossamer funds, about, at the moment… money that’s about to be made, money that belongs to an entity, which is about to be gifted and also inheritances.

Included, of course, is valuation in the stock market. Tesla lived on projections for a long time.

Kay Ducky's avatar

You mean it's all nothing but a carny "work"?

I am shocked. One point Twentyone Gigawatts!

Kay Ducky's avatar

They will be "worth" more than the entire Catholic Church, which has about 2,000 years' worth of most of the world's precious stones, metals, art, holy toenails, and what-have-you.

Lucifer Flapjack's avatar

Hopefully their IPO will be just as successful as the 'splodey half of their launches.

I always wonder: Do they understand what they are doing is wrong and why?

All of these Trump sycophants and enablers like Todd Blanche et al – is it just raw professional ambition (in his case, to be an even more corrupt AG than Bill Barr and John Mitchell)? Are they just hungry to feel "important" by 'basking' in reflected light (e.g. Lindsey Graham)? Or are they truly in the cult due to some personality disorder or mental health issue (e.g. Kristi Noem)?

I have trouble being able to really 'get' most of these people. Is Todd Blanche actually proud of what he is doing?

Snarfyguy's avatar

a) stupid

b) no moral compass

c) venal

d) all of the above

I suppose b) and c) intersect somewhat.

I'm posting this again because I like it. These are my two new Crew enjoying Alice's clean laundry yesterday. When they aren't sleeping, those two play so hard that Alice was considering separating them for a spell a few times over the past few days. That reminds of of Simba, as a little tiny kitten would play so hard that he would overheat and start panting. They will be introduced to Hamiltonstan around the end of the month after shots and whatnot.
