Be patient through the first 90 seconds -- haha, attention span of a gnat! -- because a remarkable little drama unfolds with protesters inside the Citibank branch communicating with protesters outside, all very reserved, collecting names and birthdates of the people about to be arrested inside. And then, brutish cops seize a woman in a business suit who is saying, "I'm a customer, I'm a customer," and showing her Citibank checkbook. Apparently she is here to close her account, and for that she is manhandled by a bunch of thug cops who should be careful where they go from now on. Anyway, closing your account is now a go-to-jail offense. UPDATE: The video was shot on a Blackberry by Meaghan Linick of Brooklyn, and
I was there trapped in the ATM space at the front door clutching my pearls when this happened. It wasn't pretty. When they tried to leave they slammed the door on them and everyone else in the bank. This was was Citibanks idea. The whole thing went to hell very fast.
Mmmm ... I'd put her desk by the door, and let the business roll in. Oh wait ... it's CitiBank. Where customers aren't actually wanted. Nevermind. Plan B would be to get her to marry me. Wait, why wouldn't that be Plan A? Damn ... I guess she is distracting.
Essentially, a "designed to fail" portfolio, sold to a Freddie Mac for Canadadian banks. Typical Canadians, stealing America's best ideas.
C.U. no can do, thanks to federal regulations (you'll never guess who lobbied for that rule...)
If you're organized as an LLC, you and the business are one for tax purposes, so using a personal account is OK. Nothing stops you from going to Costco or WalMart and ordering checks for a C.U. account that look very businesslike.
Just read the press release from Citibank about the whole clusterfuck. Believe it at your own risk.
Guess what. When you are arresting people for closing their bank accounts, you lose, Wall Street.
Bank customers haven't caused this much rouble since the Clampetts used to terrorize Mr. Drysdale and Ms. Hathaway with their down-home antics.

Yes, dickhead, bankers are the "constituency" whose interests should count in Congress. (Some of these privileged dolts just won't get it until they're facing the business end of a pitchfork.)
The thing is, NYC does, eventually, give bad cops the boot, like the douchebag who attacked a cyclist a year or two ago while the videocameras were rolling. Takes a while, what with the bureaucracy, but it does get done in the end. For whatever reason, bad cops haven't yet learned to behave themselves in front of cameras.

Rather like the attitude of the GOP elite toward today's pooz, innit?

This could be the photo that the movement rallies around.
No evidence that she was there to close her account ... but I bet she does it now!
