If Hishonor even hinted that he might fire somebody, he'd be deader than Eric Garner. That, in fact, seems to be where a lot of tabloids want this to go.
It's the military mindset that's the problem. When you count on your buddy to cover your back, you cover his . . . no matter how much of a worthless dickwad he is off the battlefield.
My dad witnessed US Marines "headhunting" on Okinawa, and said nothing about it. (The horrors of war aren't necessarily visited upon you by the other side.) To his credit, he severed all contact with those good ole boys (yeah, exactly who you think they were) the moment he got out of there. The same mentality was at work at Abu Ghraib. The thing is, this should not be how civilian police approach their service.
Ditching Lynch would be a good start toward improving the situation, but good luck with that. He's mastered the art of appealing to the lowest common denominator, very much in the manner of teabagger politicians.
I look at stuff like this and think of #12 of the 14 Signs on Fascism and laugh and laugh and laugh...but the tears are bitter. In short...we're fucked.
...why wouldn't they turn their backs to the mayor? I mean after all, they have already turned their backs on the community they swore to protect!
Happy to see the NYT turning their journalistic backs to the superdick president of the NYPD PBA. He got zero mention in their most recent coverage. I look forward to more of the same.
I for one definitely support America's Hooters waitress

They still got the guns, though.
I will happily fill in for one in a pinch, so to speak

More like their businsess plan.
A case of friendly fire . . . but this one was out in public, and can't be covered up.
Easy on the pinching, eh?
Or plungers...or a hail of lead.

He has a black wife so when your desperate to show what a racist fuckyard your are, any port will do.
At least they didn't turn the fire hoses and dogs on the screen.

The unanimity of back-turning sort of undermines the popular idea that most cops aren't rage-fueled authority freaks.
