I don't have a pencil sharpener. Actually, I do, but why bother?

Yeah, before more American lives were lost than all armed conflict since and including Korea. Let's not count that time.

"We are white now"

This explains so much. The irony is that I'm white white and I am the most liberal in my family.

First let me say: biologically there is no such thing as race, there are just switches in the DNA strand which determine eye color, hair color, skin color. When companies that do the DNA ancestor thing are really doing are tracing the “population” centers where there is a preponderance of the DNA you have submitted. 2nd: I am somewhat confused about you being “white white”. Are you not related to these people biologically? There was, for centuries, an influx of Northern Europeans in all the Latin countries. It is not the least surprising that there would be blonde hair and blue eyes throughout Latin America...but as it is a recessive gene it is more common for the dark hair and eyes. So the way you look (while it would be used in 1690 in Virginia to determine which side of the color line you fell on...no longer applies in the 21st century) does not determine your “whiteness” except in the most superficial way...again your family, seemingly, has sought to be part of the power structure (and who wouldn’t! If you could pass it made your life easier. Thomas Jefferson’s daughters from Sally Hemming disappeared into Washington DC where they could pass as white very easily because of the anonymity of the big city). My family was very racist and very Republican...but I turned out to be progressive and liberal. Was it education or just the ability to empathize with other humans? Who knows?

There's "massaging the numbers", there are shenanigans, and then there is THIS delusional bullshit.

Conservatards do NOT know how to write fantasy/sci-fi worth a damn.

By white white I mean pale, redhead, freckled. Nobody knows I'm mixed unless I tell them. I put Hispanic when asked because I identify with that part of my heritage. My mom tells people I'm her daughter because I look nothing like her until I smile.

The irony is that I sympathize with immigrants more than most of my Latino fam. Who will all be voting for Trump.

A lot of Hungarians went to Mexico. One of the most famous orchestral conductors of Mexican heritage was descended from a Hungarian grandfather. I’m saying that because Hungarians are often redheads!

A colleague is married to a young woman whose heritage is totally Mexican. He has blue eyes and light brown hair, she is dark hair, dark eyes. Their little son is totally a red head with blue eyes and fair skin. I keep thinking switched at birth...but your story shows how it can happen.

Please review the rules. We do not look kindly on the "-tard" suffix, for reasons that should be pretty obvious.

I was wondering the same. Imo, "Asian Americans" just plain isn't a demographic in any meaningful, unifying way.
