Speaking of Oath Keepers, did I mention that "progressive" Glenn Greenwald is a fan:

"Why Is Glenn Greenwald Promoting an Extreme Right Wing Militia?" http://littlegreenfootballs...

Also, too: Greenwald's BFF, Ron Paul, starring in Oath Keepers militia "documentary"

"Paul, the father of Kentucky senator and current presidential candidate Rand Paul, previously appeared in Jaeger’s films Fiat Empire, Original Intent, Spoiler and Molon Labe. As we’ve previously reported, Jaeger’s group has a long history of publishing tirades against Jews (and their alleged involvement in child murder) and 9/11 truther theories.

Jaeger believes Israel was involved in the 9/11 attacks and he recently compared the state of Israel to ISIS: “Is it thus any surprise that when Zionists call for a Jewish state (ISRAEL) and Arab-Muslims call for an Islamic State (ISIS aka ISIL) there is going to be massive and endless conflict?”

One article he links to on his site, “Are Jews Conspiring to Take Over the World?,” says that while it may be a fraudulent document, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion “accurately describe much of what is happening in our world today.”http://www.rightwingwatch.o...

Not surprising considering Paul's racist history: http://dneiwert.blogspot.co...

"Civil liberties" my foot: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Had the left done it's homework on Greenwald, we would not now be looking at a Trump candidacy: http://www.irehr.org/2014/0...

Got my commission in late 89 and retired it in late 2011. My timing wasn't great, but it is hard to serve that long without politicians throwing you into a war for no good reason.

Ha. I would assume so. After all, as Pulp Fiction taught us, they have the Royale With Cheese.

We've been waiting WAY too long for Sean's for-charity waterboarding.

I can't be snarky - this is just disgusting. I don't share many policy positions with John McCain, but damn these people.

McCain is bad . These "patriots" are worse . Much MUCH worse .

Chuck C. Johnson (the middle initial will remain very important) is an astonishing piece of...work.

One could spend an entire day reading about his madness at Little Green Footballs, itself run by a former neo-con Republican who got woke several years ago when the Right grew too extreme for him. Now he covers the violent insanity of alt-right loons and CCJ (AKA "The Rage Furby") is a pet project for him because they share they same first and last name (hence the middle initial being important). Rage Furby has responded the same way he responds to everything: stalking and threats of legal action.

When Rage Furby isn't rattling his cup for donations, he's bragging about having tons of cash with which to pursue his enemies in court. The history of his lawsuit against Gawker is comedy gold, though it's largely lost in Gawker's legitimate legal woes.

Whatever evils John McCain has committed in politics, and he brought Sarah Palin into the public sphere for crying out loud, NOTHING diminishes what he endured in Korea and his refusal to be released early, ahead of other prisoners who had been held longer than he had. He knew what the price would be for defying his captors but he did it anyway because it was the right thing to do.

Yes, he broke under torture. Every study on the horrors of using pain and terror as weapons against captives has shown that EVERYONE has a breaking point. I don't have the words to allow him to absolve himself for breaking, but I can and will stand up for him when he faces this callous treatment from the wingnuts.

I wouldn't vote for McCain, for many political reasons. But I have a great deal of respect for him. These "oath keeper" yahoos? I'm pretty damn sure they'd spill their guts (literally and figuratively) at the prospect of a second open-handed slap on the face.

@kareemachan- It's been 7+ years for Shun Sannity. The thing about Oathkeepers is they often include members of local police organizations. Ex-military who could not think of what do do with themselves, and had no other salable skills. For Shun I believe he saw his more courageous friend Mancow Muller break very quickly when waterboarded and Shun decided, then and there, to back out of his pledge.

Thank goodness for the oathkeepers. This is just a smear propaganda piece for idiots.

I love how, after 2 years, you still have not even one upvote for your retarded spiel.

In my experience, non combat vets are the biggest chickenhawks. I like to drop in on their discussions, ask the where they were deployed and when, then share my very liberal opinion. They then ask where and when I was deployed. So funny to watch them deflate when I tell them. These types are so soft they can't even recognize the million mile stare. Poseurs.

Yes, and they get to vote. It is right and proper that they should, but it does explain a few things.
