So he should do the inevitable and become a Democrat!

I think a question was asked whether, if someone had had access to insurance, but had declined to buy it and was now in need of emergency medical care but had not money, should the government pay for his treatment. Ron Paul said, "NO!" and the audience cheered.

Unfortunately, society can often cause a tendency that reverses what Darwin observed: negative natural selection.

"What just staggers me is how she said how he should be at the front of the line for his health care because of how sick he is. That really takes a special kind of stupid."

The level of their narcissism is simply breathtaking.

And blame Obama (or maybe FDR) that it is a flawed system.

Why doesn't Ben do it himself?

He's a handyman. He should say a group of illegal alien Rastafari gays who want to impose Sharia law (that covers most of the GOP's hated groups, just don't try to see any logic in it) wanted him to refurbish their orgy room. When he refused the gang used their voodoo, put a hex on him, causing him to lose his eyesight.

That is not true. Here is the link to prove it:

I agree with the need for single-payer. But Republicans would never go for that because it would put the insurance companies out of business. I think it is inevitable, but I don't know when it will happen.

As to deductibles and co-pays, EVERY insurance policy has those. They had them BEFORE Obamacare and they have them now. So, blaming the President for that is ridiculous.

I will grant you that it is too early to know yet what people's experiences will be when they need to use their insurance. But the same was true before Obamacare. Many Americans said they were happy with their health plans. When they asked those people if they had ever used their insurance, most had not or only used it for a yearly checkup, which is usually covered at no cost. If they surveyed people and asked how many who had USED their health plan were happy with it, I'm sure the percentage would be a lot less.

When I had private insurance, before I retired, I learned REALLY QUICKLY that just because you HAVE the insurance does not mean that they will COVER you, even for conditions that are covered. Insurance companies have a million "outs" to get out of covering people. Obamacare is supposed to have changed that. Since I am not enrolled in private health insurance anymore (I have Medicare) I cannot say whether that is true or not.

All in all, while Obamacare is not perfect, it is a step in the right direction. I have always asked the Republicans, what is THEIR plan? But beyond them saying they would allow people to not pay tax on the money they spent for premiums, they don't have one. That is not helping anyone. If a person cannot afford insurance, a tax deduction will not likely help them. The only thing that would do is allow wealthier taxpayers who had private policies to get a tax deduction.

Certainly, there have been no horror stories, as the Republicans claimed would happen. Cats are not marrying dogs and fish are not flying. The economy hasn't taken a hit. Hospitals have not shut their doors en-mass.

Don't recall blaming the President for co-pays and co-insursnce. I said it was not true that insurance would cost no more than 9.5% of your income as he promised. As for hospitals closing, several in Florida (where I live) have closed. Google it.

Yes it is true. I have it on the authority of my insurance company and agent. They will not cover costs arising from care for conditions related to anything pre-existing before we purchased the policy. I'd takr a picture of the text in my plan summary that says so but I can't post a picture here. And our plan is an Exchange plan (Silver. PPO)
