A friend recently went to the emergency room with heart attack symptoms. It cost him over $4,000 for them to tell him that no, he had the flu. (He has to pay it because of his deductible is $6K.)
How do we fix this problem? Single-payer won't help. I'm sure as hell going to think twice about going to the emergency room for what might turn out to be a $4K case of indigestion.
Just curious, why do you think that single payer, aka Medicare for all, won't work? It's what I'm prepared to poke someone in the eyeball (with a vote) for, and am hoping will eventually come out of Obamacare.
