Reported on St Louis news as being a lieutenant with the St Ann police. Until this incident they were best known for running a production-line speed trap on Highway 70 near the airport.

in fact, those speed traps are one of the big issues with the local community- they unsurprisingly tend to target minorities

One bad apple creates a serious concern that the whole fucking barrel is full of bad apples.

(Not a really crisp motto, I admit).

Hey, they've got an almost all-white police staffel, why change gears now?

He probably held his semi too close to his face when he was lining up the kill shot, and the kickback bruised him.

Re: prayers. Not my thing, but if the community -- the folks Capt J is working with -- think it's a good thing, then it's a good thing to do. In addition to seeking justice, it's also worthwhile to try to deter the community from unintentional collective immolation.

Somewhat OT, but Erick son of Erick also had "thoughts" about the clusterfuck in Ferguson, which he <a href="http:\/\/www.redstate.com\/2014\/08\/15\/must-we-have-a-dead-white-kid" target="_blank">shared with his fellow wing nuts. </a>

He starts out all sympathetic to the residents, which makes you sit up and go WTF? and look for the word “Onion” in the url, but then you find that he feels their pain only because he agrees that the cops are just way too armored-up.

And then you finally realize that he doesn't like <i>that</i> because it means the right-wing gun-humping loons -- who’ve been stockpiling AR-15s and ammo (and canned beans and Spam) ever since the Kenyan Usurper Tyrant started in on murdering their freedumbs -- are still vastly outgunned by the law. And that just takes all the fun out their “Real American Patriots Taking Back America" fantasies.

I don't mind Darren Wilson being on admin leave til the indictment comes in. Due process and all that.

What I do mind is the dozens of cops who have killed innocent men and women and then retired on full pensions, not to mention the extra money to pay for their PTSD treatments.

Wouldn't it be nice if all that taxpayer cash went to <strike>more military gear for police departments</strike> <strike>underfunded school systems</strike> some fucking training for cops?

Because clearly these small-town guys have never been to cop school.

The sad part is, if it weren't for the relentless scrutiny from the media and the tireless efforts of the ACLU, this clown would be on riot patrol tonight

one bad apple- unlike all those horrible brutish animals protesting who are all collectively responsible for the actions of a few out of town looters
